I had read the "I Can Make You Thin" book and followed the program with a mild amount of success. I felt like there was something holding me back from following the program's Golden Rules 100 percent. The hypnotic gastric band (HGB)was the one-two punch I needed. The day after I first listened to the HGB trance, I was astonished at how much I left behind on my plate! I found that its good to reinforce with frequent listenings of the trance cd, even though Paul suggests to do it every month or so, I did it every other day the first couple of weeks.

I don't have a ton of weight to lose, 30 lbs., so I would never qualify for a *real* gastric band, nor would I want one. I'm too chicken for any surgery, so I decided to try this as no matter what I eat I never seem to feel full or satisfied. This 30 lbs. I've been trying to lose the past 10 years with no real success, other than a couple pounds lost, then regained, like yo-yo dieting.

I was eager to start so I popped the CD into my computer when I heard a stern warning to stop the CD and read the book first. It's a quick read as the type is large and the lines are almost double-spaced. Don't jeopardize this not working for you by skipping the book, it's important. For 1-2 weeks before you start the hypnosis sessions, you're supposed to walk 20 minutes a day and eat less high fat/high sugar foods, just as if you were preparing for a *real* gastric band.

I thought a British accent would distract me enough to not become hypnotized, Paul McKenna's voice is soothing and his accent did not keep me from going into a trance.

CD: Has 2 tracks.
Track 1: Pre-operative instructions 13 minutes long. (Which tells you to stop the CD and read the book first!)
Track 2: Gastric band installation trance. 28 minutes long.

DVD: Havening Technique. Under 5 minutes long - a chest-tapping/eye movement procedure to use if you have uncomfortable feelings? This technique is supposed to help raise your serotonin levels since food will no longer be doing that for you. I've been doing this in private (kind of odd) - maybe it takes awhile to see any result other than just feeling dumb when doing it - this may be too New Age for me.

I have used the 4 Golden rules in the past and lost 25lbs. So even though I was skeptical about this Gastric Surgery I decided to give this a try. I lost 10lbs the first week eating whatever I wanted. I found that I just couldn't eat as much. I do listen to the recording every day just to make sure it sticks with me. This will work if you just pay attention if you are getting full or not. I also think eating slow helps, this way you give your body a chance to tell you if you are full. I also stop eating as soon as I think I am full. If I am hungry 10 minutes later then I eat again until i feel full. This way you will learn the signals your body is sending you.

In the first two weeks I've lost 6lbs! And I feel fantastic! It is truly amazing how simple it is and I don't feel deprived,hungry or cranky. However I will be honest you have to follow the instruction in the book. I have read the book, watched the DVD, listen to the cd every night and changed the way I eat and have had great results. My husband however only listens to the cd and I have not seen a change in his habits. This is no magic pill, you have to want to change. If your willing to change, this is a great aide.

Update-since starting this program in May 2014, it's now October 2014 I have lost 20lbs! I didn't have much to lose I started at 144lbs and really only thought I would lose 10lbs or so but I am amazed that I am now 123.9lbs!! And the crazy thing is I'm still losing weight. Again though you have to want to change, my husband who also listens to the cd but hasn't changed his eating habits has only seen minimal weight loss

I am diabetic type 2, mainly because I eat too much, I have never tried to control my eating I.e. Amounts or Types of food. I have become Morbidly Obese and felt I had no hope, this book is awesome, for the first time in a life time (43 yrs old) I finally am truly enjoying food at the right amounts, I am satisfied, very happy and content, 3 weeks 11lbs so far........looking forward to the rest of my weight loss journey ;-)

So I recieved this book and I Can make you Thin almost 1 month ago. I read I Can Make You first and a few days later read this one. I watched the DVD later that day and because I fit the qualification, I listened to the CD right away. I am pleased with my results as I feel full, even stuffed after only a few bites. I am down 5 pounds without trying. I am very aware of what I am eating and noticed I crave fruit instead of the usual icecream. I also find that I want to exercise! Most would think that this does not work for them but if you continue with the golden rules you will see a difference. You will notice yourself doing the things the CD tells you to do without even thinking about it. I listen to the I Can Make You Thin CD every other night and the HGB CD once a week and will continue to do so. Thank you Paul McKenna!
