5.0 out of 5 stars THIS BOOK IS A TREASURE!!
I personally know Tom Silver and have always been impressed with how much information he gives whether just talking to you one on one, or in one of his seminars. He always goes the extra mile. He has done the same thing in this new book that he co-wrote with Ormond McGill. It is loaded with a lot of valuable, useful information and there is something for everyone...

3.0 out of 5 stars Hypnotism and the English language
This book may well be a treasure of hypnotic instruction. However I feel it would be a lot better if the writers and EDITOR had bothered to proof read it. There are so many English errors in the book it makes it annoying and difficult to concentrate on the content of the book.

Apart from that - read the other reviews.

3.0 out of 5 stars Interesting read, but hard to take seriously, January 9, 2007

This review is from: Hypnotism: A Hypnosis Training & Techniques Manual: The Real Questions And Answers (Paperback)
I bought this book when I already had a small background in hypnosis - I found a lot of information interesting, however there were spelling mistakes and grammar mistakes that I couldn't quite get past. The author seemed a little full of himself in that he mentions his own name and qualifications almost every other page (I'm exaggerating slightly, but it was enough to where I was thinking, "Alright already! I get it!).

In a subject that many people don't take seriously, I would have tried to give the subject more credibility by having someone proof-read my book. The author/s make some statements that have no citations or bibliographical reference, that I may choose to believe but skeptics of hypnotism may scoff at.

If you buy this, buy it for yourself and don't buy it to help educate a "non-believer".

I personally know Tom Silver and have always been impressed with how much information he gives whether just talking to you one on one, or in one of his seminars. He always goes the extra mile. He has done the same thing in this new book that he co-wrote with Ormond McGill. It is loaded with a lot of valuable, useful information and there is something for everyone whether you know nothing at all about hypnosis, are just starting out, or are a seasoned veteran. One could run out of ink trying to highlight all of this information. This is a book to be read over and over again and is a great reference manual. Kudos to Tom and Ormond who once again have been very generous is sharing their many combined years of knowledge. Many people try to keep things to themselves, but not these two. That's a mark of a true professional.

On a footnote, I called Tom and told him that he has to get himself another editor as there were a lot of errors. He readily acknowledged that unfortunately the editor erroneously sent in the unedited rough draft to the printer and that he is already working on correcting this by putting out the correctly edited final copy that should have gone out originally. This will come out as a 2nd edition.
