The book is interesting and informative. The author avoids speculation and allows writers of that era to expose Hyrum in their letters and such. It's a great book and I've come away with a deeper understanding for who Hyrum Smith was as well as who his brother, Joseph Smith was.

I found this book to be extremely enlightening on the service of Hyrum and Joseph.

I liked that the author had the footnotes and references at the end of each chapter so that you could quickly refer to these sources.

The book is well written and easy to follow and brings to light the struggles that this man and his family endured to follow the teachings and promptings of the spirit of the lord and his prophet.

This a great book about a man who showed great faith and fortitude. Even if the reader is not LDS (Latter Day Saint) they will come away with a great example of someone who stayed faithful to not only his family but his beliefs, even in the face of death. I strongly recommend this book to anyone interested in the struggles of the Morman church and those who gave their lives for it.
