This means DO NOT GO BELOW the range of the recoil damper OR ABOVE IT.
B. L. Johnson
Finally had to use like a bench rest (but even that was difficult due to unwieldy design) and using a hands on approach to assist the rest and hold target sight.
Steven M. Keller
Would I send it back if I could get my money back - hell YES Would I recommend it to anybody - no way !

The #30088 Hykore DLX Precision rest as it comes will only work for -certain ranges of recoil energy- that depends on your specific ammunition and rifle weight! Before you buy, you must first determine the recoil energy that your rifle will have with the ammunition you'll use. You won't find this out until you get the instruction booklet that comes with the rest. For the dealer web sites not to mention this is inexcusable. It's not mentioned on the dealer ordering sites or even the Hyskore web site unless you first download the instruction booklet PDF for that specific rest. They say something like "Gas-dampening is suitable for all popular calibers from 7 mm to .375 HH", which is only PART OF THE STORY. The DLX rest out of the box with the included compression damper is designed for powerful rifles and loads having a heavy recoil energy, 18-45 ft-lbs!

The DLX rest instructions specifically warn: "DO NOT EXCEED THE LIMITS OF THE COMPRESSION DAMPER!" This means DO NOT GO BELOW the range of the recoil damper OR ABOVE IT. It's just as bad for your rifle to use it with a damper that's too stiff as it is with a damper that's not stiff enough. First determine your recoil energy in ft-lbs using one of the recoil energy calculators referred to on the Hyskore web site. The DLX rest NEEDS THE OPTIONAL SPRING PACK TO WORK with the .30-06 U.S. service rifles like the M1 Garand, M1903 Springfield, M1917 or British Lee-Enfield rifles using .303 British ammo, which all have a recoil energy of 11 or 12 ft-lbs. The DLX rest will not work with these rifles without the spring pack. You can use the DLX rest with lighter recoil rifles like the AR-15, but you need to buy the optional spring pack #30028 for another $15.

This is not really a -precision- rest.

I bought this rest for our shooting group. Purpose: eliminate human error; Sight in rifles; and Determine which rifle and ammo combinations would be best for extreme long range shooting. Our biggest complaint: The trigger mechanism does not adapt to rifles at all. That part of the item is junk. However, the rest performs reasonably well and we were able to achieve amazing accuracy by eliminating most human movement to a great degree. Suggestions: Change Trigger Attachment and build the rest out of slightly thicker sheet metal. We're still glad we bought it.

this is must have for all hunter's or target shooter's that wants there optic's dead on . the instruction video was broke when packing arrived but it was so easy to put together that any body with a little common sense could put it together . I read other reviews on this product before I purchased it and they said the remote trigger wouldnt mount to the gun but i had no problem with mounting of the remote trigger.the trigger guard mounts between the two extra rubber peices.it's a simple and easy to use product.

As with most items I receive from The Sportsman Warehouse, this item arrived on my door step in it's original packaging, with no outer box, damaged with apparently The Arm of the Bench Grip 1/4" hardware missing. Thanks again for another stellar example of your fine shipping department... *stare*

I simply replaced all the hardware that was installed or was included with this Shooting Rest with high grade stainless steel fasteners of the correct lengths and types (BHCS's instead of the silly hex heads you can't get a box wrench or socket on in the first place).
This combined with the Made in China = 1 loss of star.
The V-notch front gun support arrived new in the box with the foam separating from the metal. Poor adhesive instead of properly overmolding the front gun support nor the "socket" as they call it (where the butt of the stock is cradled). So I can only imagine how soon the grey ribbed rubber that is glued there will begin separating.. = 1 loss of star.
The simple fact of spending 100$ on a Shooting Rest, looking at the materials used, level of quality, poor assembly & QC or there lack of only to confirm that the "Spring Pack" in fact is NOT included with this "DLX" Hyskore rest from Power Aisle.. Really?! You're going to charge 25$ (parts + shipping) for something that SHOULD be included?! Wow... = almost knocked 2 stars immediately for a horrible business model.
However the saving grace for this product. Drum roll please... That's right, RTFM, yes the Destructions of all things save this with a secure 3 star rating. Why?
Not only do they warn you on multiple levels, even to the point of and I quote "If you do something dumb, bad things can happen."
Amen. I actually laughed out loud while reading this.

I bought this rest thinking that the rifle returns to the same position after each shot so sighting in the rifle would be soooo simple; just fire a shot then turn the scope till the hairs cross at the hole in the target. Then fire a few more to make one raggedy hole in the target at the right place. Right ? Oh so WRONG !!

Holes all over the place looked like a shotgun at 25 yards. The screws are full of backlash, the rest does not return to same position each time and it is all a bit fragile so all in all it just wasn't what I had been led to believe it was. It does not return to the same place after each shot like a ransom rest would for a pistol.

As for the trigger accessory - well the other reviews have covered this - it just doesn't work.

Now all that said - if you re-sight each shot (very time consuming) back on the point of aim and very carefully pinch the trigger guard and trigger you can get good repeatability. But you can get that with sandbags or bench rest rests which are easier to use and cost a whole lot less.

Do I use it - yes cause I have bought it.
Would I send it back if I could get my money back - hell YES
Would I recommend it to anybody - no way !
