I picked this unit after getting a defective unit from Haier. I found the price very competitive and always look for "energy Star" qualification. Knowing their autos are reliable instilled some buying confidence. No disappointment here after 2 months. I find well thought out features and good value in this unit. The only thing I dont like is some awkwardness in dumping the bucket without spilling outside your target due to the cover/float part mostly covering the opening. I would buy this again though. It fills up the tank very quickly which tells me it works excellent. We were running 70% humidity in our RV that we're temporarily staying in and within a hour this unit had it down to 45%. I couldn't believe how fast it worked. Every day we had condensation on the windows and around the windows, and I had to wipe up mold routinely. Now the windows and frames are 100% dry. No more condensation at all! I am very happy with this and the fact its even energy star rated.

If I could give this product zero stars I would. After reading the reviews and weighing the cost of shipping versus price, I pulled the trigger on this unit. It was used in a basement room that I wanted to keep dry because of all the books I keep in there. Turned the unit on and in 24 hours the humidity was cut in half. The tank was easy to dump. , but I didn't care about the noise factor as it was not an occupied room, And then it stopped. It lasted 3 1/2 months. I went down to dump the tank and the room had a hot electrical smell to it. The blower was running but the tank was empty. The readout on top indicated 45% humidity in the room. I let it run for another day and same thing, hot electrical smell, empty tank and rising humidity. So I turned it off. It was past the allotted time to return to Amazon so I called the 1-800 number in the Users Manual. The people I spoke to were unprofessional and curt. They took my name, phone number and model number and said they would get back to me. I've never heard from them again. I feel like I wasted my money on this one.

Extremely effective and easy to operate.I had issues with water condensation on the windows in my 1200 sq. ft. apartment, and this machine completely took care of that problem. Very easy and convenient to use. The 30 gallon tank is usually enough to last one if not two days before it needs to be emptied. Highly recommended!!

I've had the Hyundai HYU-30AE dehumidifier for several months now and have found it quite useful for pulling out excess moisture from my house. I have it stationed in the main part of my house (kitchen/dining rm/living.) Its operation is fairly simple with just a few control buttons on top---easy to see and use. It occasionally confuses ME with the "increase/decrease" humidity controls....does the easy to read "readout" indicate 'what I have or what I want to achieve' ---eventually I seem to get it right or at least doing what it should. In the beginning, it ran pretty-much constantly for the 1st 3 days. I live in a humid part of the country (west-central Florida)...so, such a lengthy operation is probably to be expected. I've found it particularly useful to operate during those times of the year when no heating or air conditioning is required from my heat pump outside. This dehumidifier keeps the indoor humidity down without having to unnecessarily run either the heat or A.C. to do the same thing. I'm certain now that the electricity needed to run this machine is substantially less than running the heat pump. I would recommend this machine. I like mine and am quite satisfied.Hyundai HYU-30AE 30 Pint Dehumidifier, Energy Star |
