I purchased this about a month ago. When it arrives it comes with Android pre-installed. However the system comes with some built in applications that you can not remove and unless you are more fluent in Chinese than I am, the applications just load down the system but are unusable. One such app is a Utility that does system management, power management, and virus scan... all in Chinese only. So after a couple of weeks I found another version of the OS image to install and performance improved. You just need to turn it on 20 minutes before you want to use or don't install any applications other than what comes with it. Other quirks about the Tablet. It frequently loses internet connectivity forcing you to stop and restart the wifi to get a connection. I will say this once its booted and connected to the internet and all applications are updated it does work well with a nice display. But is no better than the Motorola Xoom dual core tablet I have. One last thing, you will want an application that will tell you what applications you can move to flash otherwise you will run out space for applications quickly.

1. pros:
a.great screen no doubt about it.
good screen shape/ form factor - exactly same as ipad 1. much better shape for reading than the slot like shape of the typical android device with the horrible bar across the top and bottom when you are browsing horizontaly which makes even a big screen small and unpleasant.

b. it does read external SD cards with an OTG cable (most of these things dont including the HTC flyer which is supposed to but doesnt)
thats about it for the pro

2. cons:
a.on start up the screens are in CHINESE....actually when I very first started it the screen locked up with some gibberish pattern and I had to let it drain and recharge it to get it to boot...... so if you dont have another android device to guide you to change the language you are in trouble already.

b.ere are lots of chinese apps that it wont let you uninstall (QQ for example)

c. it seems to think its still in china as there are lots of apps that wont let you download them from Play store but when you port the apk from another android device they run perfectly and even update.

d.unfortunately the processor isnt fast enough to drive it so the thing creaks like a steam engine. to say that there is "lag" is to misuse the word lag. I grow old waiting for things to happen. thats not lag. thats ice ages coming and going.
frankly its so slow its virtually unusable for anything apart from as a kindle reader, (which is all i can get it to do reliably)

e. switched to HD mode to use the screen it virtually freezes entirely. you can feel the effort it has just switching between apps.
in any case no one writes apps for this high definition (and even if they did this piece of junk wouldnt have the power to run them.
