Very impressive, great voice-powerful at times, sweet the next, earthy sound. Combination of Morrisette, Janis J., Sara Barreilles. Each of the 11 cuts are good. Some great. She wrote all cuts. really, really good lyrics, a storyteller. Can you tell I enjoyed the cd ? really a more than just pleasant surprise. I happened to listen to a 2006 album by Dirtie Blonde and as soon as I heard the lead singer's voice I new that I had to hear more and found that Aimie had just released her solo album.
Some songs soar. Each cut takes a unique turn halfway through.
She knows how to sing. Good backing band.

How did this album miss the charts? This is an absolutely brilliant album with essence of Tori Amos, Fiona Apple, Regina Spektor, Amiee Mann and the likes - with an edge. Great writing on melodies and lyrics. Let's hope her new band So & So gets its due.

Amie really kills with this album. She has such an amazing voice and awesome melodies. I don't understand how she didn't become a bigger hit.

Amie has a very unique voice that just sounds great. Her music compliments it wonderfully. The combination is irresistible. One of the best CD's I own (and I own more than 500).

it is rare these days that an album has really more than one or two really good songs, this one is the exception, brillant voice and songwriting, my favourite is Coldfront.

Songs from Amie Miriello's 'I Came Around' kept popping up while listening to Pandora. Each time I would stop working and take a hard look at who was singing with that *amazing* voice and time and again it was another cut from this album. After awhile I thought, 'This is ridiculous...I NEED to buy this CD already!'. It is truly that awesome. I can't think of the last time I had an album with this many fantastic songs. Amie's voice and songwriting/storytelling ability is top notch. I was honestly shocked when I came here to Amazon to order and saw only 6 reviews!? It's a crying shame more people haven't had the treat of hearing this fantastic jewel of an album. A+ all the way, hands down. :)

A different sound than she had with Dirtie Blonde, Amie Miriello's cd proves how great a vocalist she is. Besides the namesake of the album, I love the songs "Brand New" and "Cold Front". Great female artist.

So I got recomended Dirtie Bolnde's album by amazon a while ago, I previewed then quickly purchased...falling in love with this girls voice. I was then disheartened to hear that the band broke up...which brings us to now. I near spat coffee on my computer screen when I saw this recomended to me...she was back, nicer hair and better sound.

This album is a must have for rock/pop female singer fans out there! But it's no run of the mill effort, I'll go as far to say it's amazing. The production, the depth, the lyrics...it's an album to be proud of.

The beautifuly sad Cold Front has to be my favourite track, closely followed by Snow, the title track gets stuck in ones head, mainly because of the twang Amie adds to her voice...Pictures became a rock solid fave of my best friends as soon as I showed it to her.

I waited for tis album, it was avaialable nowhere in Australia! But thanks to amazon I got it...do yourself an audio favour and get it too!

I love this CD. Amie's voice is incredible and her songwriting is amazing. Very highly recommended!

The Good
Past relationship mistakes and learning from them is what the acoustic heavy "I Came Around" is about. Amie has such a sweet melody and tone to her voice. Keeping with the same theme, Amie recalls her past love affair with "Pictures." The lyrics are quite relatable since we've all looked at old pictures and remembered the good and bad of a past love. Aime decides to move on with "Band New." Sultry vocals and killer acoustic guitar picking set the tone. The chorus is quite catchy, even though it's more an anthem for women.

"Snow" is a beautiful piano ballad. "Grey" has a nice bounce and groove to it. "Beauty of Goodbye" goes back to the piano sound, but is enhanced with more emotion and instrumentation. Aime brings her vocal range up higher for "Drifter," and still nails an enchanting melody. "Hey" is simply powerful on an emotional level as Aime pours her heart out.

The Verdict
Sure, comparisons could be made to KT Tunstall, but Miriello leaves her in the dust. Tunstall had one good song at best, on I Came Around, Mirello has eleven solid tracks full of emotions we can all relate to on some level. Aime's upbeat tracks blend well with the heartfelt ballads, and the music is always interesting and enjoyable.
