5.0 out of 5 stars Explosive, September 9, 2008
This review is from: I Can Go To Hell By Myself (Perfect Paperback)
For this to be a new and upcoming author I really enjoyed the excitement the main character (Decadent) brought forth. I Can Go To Hell by Myself was a very touching and self reflective read. Decadent displays traits and actions that some of every woman has. I would definitely recommend this book.

5.0 out of 5 stars D.I.V.A., August 2, 2008
This review is from: I Can Go To Hell By Myself (Perfect Paperback)
What can you say about a girl named Decadent? Her name says it all. She indulges in many things that can bring about her downfall. She is careless with life and engages in relationships that are not only bad for her, but are somewhat addictive. This is a reflection of some of the things that young women go through today, and do not know a way out. Until they meet someone who can help them see the other side of things, and know through faith and prayer, good, even great, things can happen. For a first time author, Ms. Patton has done an excellent job in telling Decadent's story. Hopefully, this will not be the last we see from her, especially since it is left on a cliffhanger. Congratulations to you.

4.0 out of 5 stars I Need Someone To Love Me., July 25, 2008
This review is from: I Can Go To Hell By Myself (Perfect Paperback)
I Can Go To Hell...By Myself by Venom Patton is a riveting, in your face book about Decadent Indulgence Vincent-Allen also known as DIVA. With a name like that she should be a star in her own right, but dealing with devastating blow-after-blow, Diva finds herself in bad situations constantly. Decadent is a self acclaimed Diva and goes out to get what she wants no matter who gets hurt in the process. Ms. Patton takes us on a journey through the eyes of Decadent's life, where we see her struggle, fight, love, play and be used and abused. No matter how smart Decadent proves to be in school, she plays the victim all too well and never tries to correct her situations.

From being raped and manipulated into ménage a trios, Decadent finds that maybe she needs to sit still and find God. Someone needs to help her before it becomes too late. While living the fast life, away at college, she befriends a homely girl, Dashi, who invites her to take a look at a calmer more intriguing lifestyle, then her current one. Nathaniel is Dashi's brother and falls for Decadent as soon as he lays eyes on her, but he can see she is troubled and prays for her soul.

Partying, drinking, using drugs and engaging in a lot of sex are the only things on this Diva's mind. Will she slow down long enough to realize she is killing herself? Will she see that even though she was abused and raped that God will forgive and be their for her? Can she open up and love herself as well as others? Or will it be too late when she finds herself in a situation looking at her life from the other side?

This is a great book; I read this in one sitting and refused to put it down until I found out if she was going to come to her senses. There is a little diva in all of us, but that should not stop us from loving ourselves unconditionally. I recommend this book to everyone who enjoys a phenomenal story.
