The best!,
By Richard Katz (Southern California) - See all my reviews
This review is from: I Can If I Want To (Paperback)
This is a gem that went out of print. It's my absolute favorite self help book. Its an easy read and impossible to not provide any reader some true insights. By any measure its great. That is when compared to most psych books its better and cheaper. When compared to therapy, at a cost of five minutes with a shrink this will give you more knowledge than five years of psych-talk. And even when compared with the cost of Zoloft its a steal. No kidding, its the only thing costing under $50.00 that ever even began to change my life. I love this book! If you can't afford it get it from the library...or get a job and buy it.

Life changing, myth changing,
By Ted Bowker (New York City) - See all my reviews
This review is from: I Can If I Want To (Paperback)
Most of us have a life filled with myths (e.g. its important to be right, other people are happy, don't hide your anger). This book takes on some of the most common myths...and provides another way to look at them. Its written by two of the most famous living therapists... a psychologist and psychiatrist who are both masters. Its easy to read and truly life changing. There aren't many books I can say that about. The book was a best seller in an earlier edition (in the 1980s) and went out of print. I assume this new publisher bought the rights. I'm really happy its back in print. Its a classic. This has long been one of my favorite books. Do not miss it!

Very good. The authors are extremely honest and compassionate. It demonstrate that we all need some help, but it does not give a recipe.
