5.0 out of 5 stars Jazzy, soft and it makes you feel good., June 12, 1999
By A Customer
This review is from: I Centrum (Audio CD)
This the most recent of the recordings by Bo Kaspers Orkester is what you're looking for if you're a person who's life rushes past to fast. Listening to the the lovely tunes with the soft, jazzy feel and the great lyrics reminds you of the things you're missing when rushing through your life. This laid back music is great if you're in that slow, sleepy, and feeling great kind of mood. It works well no matter what the weather is. It can be raining, it can be that lovely summer night, the music fits in. And this music's great when you're in love...

5.0 out of 5 stars the PERFECT album, June 8, 2003
This review is from: I Centrum (Audio CD)
like all of the reviews by non-swedes, i do not understand a "lick" of swedish either. (well, with the exception of a few words like hello and goodbye) however, the composition of BKO's music is so powerful that it really doesnt matter. i can't tell you how many people i have recommended this album to. i was first introduced to BKO in helsingborg, sweden in 1999 by a friend/holiday lover. it is one of those albums that i always go back to, and is usually one of the selections in my cd changer. when i tell people about this album my standard line is, "if i were trapped on a deserted island with a cd player and one cd, this would be the cd i would bring." that is a pretty powerful statement when it comes to music. lol! of course i would need lots of batteries!
the range of emotions one feels from these songs is unexplainable. its like going to the opera and you dont understand a word, yet you know everything they are saying. BKO expresses this exactly and with no actual visuals. it makes your imagination go wild. it brings up feelings so intense about a past lover, a current lover, a relaxing evening sipping on cocktails with friends, or a rainy afternoon cuddled up in bed watching the drops fall on the windowpane.
this truly is an album for all occasions where you want to feel warm, cozy, and content. the flow from song to song is as if you were floating on a river without a care in the world.
if you are looking to add a cd to your collection that challenges your mind and all feeling you possess, pick up this or any of the BKO albums. i guarantee you will be please. i still cant believe it took me this long to post.
enjoy!

5.0 out of 5 stars Swedish Cool, May 27, 2000

Eric K. Senunas (Boston, MA - but formerly Stockholm) - See all my reviews

This review is from: I Centrum (Audio CD)
I discovered Bo Kaspers Orkester while I was living in Stockholm. At the time, I was still learning Swedish and just enjoyed their smooth, jazzed style. But when I began to understand the words, I liked them even more. It's perfect hanging-out music, an album I listen to over and over - in the same way you can listen to "Kinda Blue" all day long.

Get this album, it is a great music country's most recent take on Swedish Cool.

5.0 out of 5 stars Even though I don't know a lick of Sweedish, I LOVED it..., August 26, 1999
By A Customer
This review is from: I Centrum (Audio CD)
I heard this disc while relaxing on the beach, and I must say, it was the best thing ever. Even though I speak absolutely -NO- Sweedish, the soothing tones and melodious voice of the BKO soon ended all stress. I highly recomend. 5 stars for sure.

5.0 out of 5 stars The colorful, playful words give ease to the mind..., April 18, 1999
By A Customer
This review is from: I Centrum (Audio CD)
The fourth CD "Centrum" from Bo Kaspers Orkester, continues to find the small but yes so essential details in life. All the things that we rush by and forget or look at as trivial, are brought up to the surface together with an ever so fitting soft jazzy touch. The lyrics are so direct but yet subtle and what kind of music is better to present this than, as said above, the delicate feel of jazz. YES, it's true, this is not music of Louis Armstrong or Miles Davis but it's music that will make you reflect and smile. An example is the song "en djävel vid mitt öra", freely translated "a devil at my ear". A man goes out in the evening to buy the paper, but meets a friend and decides to go down for a beer. The beer turns into several and one thing leads to another. Before he knows it, he is doing the town with all it's treats, but returns home just in time to get the fresh morning paper. In the song "fyrarättersmål", "fourcoursmeal", the brightness of this band reaches one of many peaks when the happiness of a loving couple is described as the happiness of a children's party (pure and clean touch!). The colorful, playful and descriptive words on this CD give ease to the mind, leaving a deep glow of happiness with the listener long after the music has faded.

4.0 out of 5 stars Bo Kaspers to the people ;), March 20, 1999

This is an awsome album - it's great for late evenings, when you're very in love but a little sleepy..... But i guess you have to be swedish to see the charm - cause the lyrics are amazing. But if you know some swedish words for some strange reason, buy this album!
