About the Author

Joel Vorensky embodies the understanding that wisdom comes through doing.

His first "doing' was a childhood job shoveling snow. Since then he has worked as a typist; as a taxicab driver in New York City and San Diego, California; as a stevedore ( longshoreman) on the docks in Scandinavia; as a teacher of both adults and children in private and public schools in the U.S. and abroad; and as a retail salesman, registered securities representative, bank officer, insurance broker, bookkeeper, beekeeper, baker, agricultural laborer, crowd control officer, ice cream cashier, hospital, liquor, and mailroom clerk, and restaurant busboy.

Teaching and counseling (integrative emphasis) has been a consistent theme in his life: languages (English As A Second Language, Swedish, Spanish, Hebrew, Latin, and Greek) as well as medical terminology, computer software business insurance and marketing. He has taught at the American Language Institute at San Diego State University, National University, San Diego, in public and private adult elementary schools, and in adult detention centers. Mr. Vorensky has a 28-year background as a peer-cocounselor in English and Scandinavian languages.

Joel grew up in Queens, Brooklyn and New York City. He lived in Scandinavia for seven years and spent several years in the middle east. For the past fourteen years he has made his home in San Diego, California. he has a daughter, now grown.

Since 1968 he has been on a conscious path to heal the pain that begain in the trauma of his birth, a path that has taken him on an odyssey through the various personal growth and healing modalities available in the Western world.

Joel hold a degree in business, Scandinavian teaching certificate in early childhood, and a California Teaching Credential.

The eclectic nature of his experience has afforded him social exposure leading to significant insights as to 'what makes people tick'. In this book he freely share his wisdom with all who care to listen and apply it to the task of improving their own lives.
