4.0 out of 5 stars Solid guitar instrumental holiday song, November 24, 2009

First of all, it really is just Deck The Halls; I have no idea why Los Straitjackets inserted the "(I)".

This group has really captured the 60s guitar sound. You can call it surf rock or rockabilly guitar, but I think of it as sounding like The Ventures. This cut could have come from The Ventures' Christmas Album.

(I) Deck The Halls packs guitar riffs and drum flourishes into its two minutes, and it's the kind of song that won't grate on you if you hear it a dozen times in December. You probably won't call it a masterpiece, but it's a good song. And it's free!

Like the other reviewers have said, pretty nice instrumental version! Short, well played, I might have paid for it!

I have to admit that I have never heard this group before today, but the overall sound is pretty nice. The strange thing is that the repeating guitar line is blatantly copied from I Fought the Law by the Bobby Fuller Four

5.0 out of 5 stars Not bad at all, December 6, 2010
This review is from: (I) Deck The Halls (MP3 Download)
I've been making a Christmas CD, a collection of the best Christmas and holiday songs I can find, for about 5 years now. Each year I add and remove songs to improve the selection. This song fit in well this year, it's a simple instrumental song but it's good (and the price of FREE is even better). I like the Mannheim Steamroller version as well, but this is a very different version so I put both on the CD this year!

4.0 out of 5 stars Nice instrumental, traditional Christmas music with a twist, November 24, 2010

Very nice.

The track takes on the Christmas classic and puts a guitar solo sort of spin on it. Very well done and well played. Unique.

At FREE it is certainly worth every penny.
