This book is one of the best I have ever read. She explains affirmations thoroughly and even gives you a little test in the beginning so you can prove the power of affirmations for yourself. That was what hooked me in the beginning; a book that actually worked and for which the author made claims! I met my current husband about two months after I got this book and started working with the affirmations, and that was in 1978 (even though the site here shows 1983 as publication date, my copy of the book says 1976.) Not to say that our marriage has been perfect, far from it!!, but it's been perfect for both of us. If it wasn't for my husband, I wouldn't be sober and have the life and career I have today. I've given this book numerous times and will be doing it for many more years. The best affirmations primer, in my view.

This book explains affirmations in a very clear way and gives you hundreds of well-formulated examples you can use. It covers blocks to love and sexual pleasure. Sondra is no prude. She bravely tackles such topics as incest, masturbation and impotence. By the way, if you ever get a chance to meet the author or take a workshop from her, she is by far the most impressive new age celebrity I have encountered.

This is a great book and deserves to be in print; I've referred it to numerous friends. Within 3 days of reading it, I met my wonderful husband - that was 9 years ago! The book is easy to read and the affirmations are powerful.

Please locate a copy of this book for me! I would even buy a used copy of it. It is a GREAT book. I lost my copy and I am unable to locate another anywhere.

This book was published decades ago and was way ahead of everyone else in this field-maybe she invented the field of thinking yourself toward a goal. I now use it when coaching others on falling in love, relationships, attraction, self love before love of others, etc. Affirmations with actions, that is the key. This book has power, real power. I used it thirty years ago to find a new relationship, told friends about it and they had the same results.

Two years ago I ordered it for a friend and was carrying it in my purse. A complete stranger spoke to me-we have been together ever since. What more can you say. I just had it in my purse with the intention of giving it to someone.

Publishers, put this back in print.

I'm not sure why this book is no longer on the market, especially considering she talks about many new age concepts that are so popular nowadays. The book is very intense...it will discuss unconscious beliefs that people have had that contributed to their current issues, with an emphasis on sexuality. Some people who are not so open minded about sex might be offended, but I felt the book had a positive emphasis on sex and it was very enlightening. It is a book about enjoying your sexuality and above all, loving yourself so that you can love others. When a person has an issue with their sexuality, or anything else, it comes down to our past experiences and how we have internalized certain beliefs. Release these beliefs, and replace them with new positive beliefs.

The section on affirmations is the main thing I love about this book. She goes one step further than any other author I have seen, in that she has a method for figuring out what the hidden beliefs really are so you can release them. Many of the people she talks about were not even aware of past traumatic experiences or beliefs because they had hidden them away. She uses mostly affirmations about sexual issues, but explains that affirmations can be used for any personal problem. I wish Sondra would write a book discussing afformations in general, not just with regards to sexuality. I think it would be helpful for a lot of people.

This is a grea book on how to do self affirmations. I have tried it a few times and found my outlook to be vastly different then what is was before.

I thought this would be a self help book about getting the love you deserve and/or accepting the fact that you deserve love. It is more geared towards getting the love you deserve in the bedroom.
