4.0 out of 5 stars Janet Jackson's "bump and grind", July 10, 2006
This review is from: I Get Lonely (Audio CD)
Though mid-tempo and slow songs reveal Jackson's limits as a singer, "I Get Lonely" is one of her best efforts while singing to a slower rhythm. Written by Jackson, longtime recording associates Jimmy Jam and Terry Lewis, along with her then-husband Rene Elizondo, the song, in its original state, is quite good; however, the remix versions, featuring BLACKstreet, and arranged by Teddy Riley, take the song into a sexual stratosphere, making it a highly charged ditty, designed to alleviate one's "boredom".

The disc loses one star for the overlong and rather silly-sounding "Janet vs. Jason - The Club Remix").

All dance tracks are not created equal.

4.0 out of 5 stars I Get Lonely, August 11, 2006

JM "JM" (My Room, Florida) - See all my reviews
This review is from: I Get Lonely (Audio CD)
This is one of my favorite Janet songs. The Single has some highs and lows, though...

Tracks:
1. I Get Lonely (TNT Remix ft. BLACKstreet)
2. I Get Lonely (TNT Bonus Beat Remix ft. BLACKstreet)
3. I Get Lonely (Janet Vs. Jason - The Club Remix)
4. I Get Lonely (Jam & Lewis Feel My Bass Mix)
5. I Get Lonely (Album Version)

Tracks 1 & 2 are awesome, but track 2 is kinda boring...
Tracks 4 & 5 are good, but track 5 is exceptional!
Track 3 is really silly, and is awful, which is why this is 4 stars...too bad...

This review is from: I Get Lonely (Audio CD)
The "I Get Lonely" cd single is worth buying! There are 5 remixes:

1. TNT Remix (with BLACKstreet) 2. TNT Bonus Beat Remix (with BLACKstreet) 3. Janet Vs. Jason - The Club Remix 4. Jam & Lewis Feel My Bass Mix 5. Album Version

BLACKstreet really blends in well with the song. In my opinion, this is one of the best songs on The Velvet Rope. I highly reccomend this single.

5.0 out of 5 stars Janet, the best female singer of this century, November 11, 1998
By A Customer
This review is from: I Get Lonely (Audio CD)
A fan from Fribourg (Switzerland), 11.11.98 Janet is for me the best female artist of this century. Of course, her career began in 80's and has only known the success. I respect her entire and enourmous work. More she has a beauty that makes the others ladies fascinated (not only the women). In fact I just wanted to share my opinion and say that she will never disapear: as Diana Ross, she is going to stay in our memory for long time.

5.0 out of 5 stars Worth the wait., July 9, 1998
By A Customer
This review is from: I Get Lonely (Audio CD)
The release date of "I Get Lonely" has been pushed back further and further. But now that it's finally here, we can see what all the fuss was about. Arguably the best R&B single of the year, Janet Jackson combines a sexy voice, deep grooves, and painful lyrics. Although the remixes with Blackstreet are excellent, the original album version is a masterpiece of modern urban recording. While Mariah Carey's "My All" seems to be the winner on the charts, "I Get Lonely" is the true winner to the listener's ear.

5.0 out of 5 stars A very sexy R&B by a very sexy soft voice., June 15, 1998
By A Customer
This review is from: I Get Lonely (Audio CD)
I Get Lonley is by far one of the best slow R&Bs Janet did throughout her life. The rythem of the song is very sexy that it makes your body move softly. The voice is very soft and very sexy also making it a sexy song with a dance touch. To who ever is hesitating into buying this single, don't hesitate becuase it will be your most heard song for the moment.
