4.0 out of 5 stars Long awaited classic, August 4, 1999
By A Customer
This review is from: I Got Next (Audio CD)
This album is easily one of the best albums to come out in the last decade. From the opening "shots" to the closing "dunks" KRS flips rhymes and blends beats like only a master could. His experimentation with metal and his association with rap's leech (Puff Daddy) are the only blights on what would otherwise be an instant classic. If you like true hip-hop, both music and culture, then this album is one that you must have in your collection.

5.0 out of 5 stars KRS makes Puffy sound good!, January 26, 2000
By A Customer
This review is from: I Got Next (Audio CD)
This is one of the innovative hip-hop records that KRS has produced. For those wondering what true hip-hop is, pick this up. I was very disappointed that KRS did a track with hip-hop's leech, Puff Daddy. But even that track is fresh. This album is worth your money. Listen and get lost in KRS' words. Yo Kris! Please don't do any more tracks with Puff! Please!

3.0 out of 5 stars Weakest of KRS-ONE's efforts, saved by "A Friend", November 29, 2004
This review is from: I Got Next (Audio CD)
I would never diss a KRS record, but this one was just a typical superstar-experimentation CD that we've all heard our favorite artists do. Track 17, "Just to Prove a Point" is EMBARRASSING! That's not KRS-ONE, and that's not hip-hop. However, Track 7, "A Friend", features the illest production on the album. I don't know what the spotlight reviewer said about it being weakly produced. It's probably one of the best tracks I've ever heard dropped by the Blastmaster. If you want this album, purchase it for that track and enjoy the rest.
