About the Author

Matthew DiBenedetti is an equal-opportunity hater. After working in the advertising industry for over twenty years, how could he not be? Matthew has worked on corporate marketing campaigns for everything from major sporting good brands and financial institutions to bookstore chains and fine china. He lives and loathes in New Jersey.

More About the Author

Matthew DiBenedetti redefines the term hater. As the author who spews loathing about all "those" people who we can't tolerate, in I Hate Everyone.; and leaves nothing untouched in the similarly spiteful I Hate Everything.; he knows exactly what's up when it comes down to hating on everything and everyone. Inspired by too many years in a life sucking corporate job, and supported by a deep groundwork of family, friends, relationships and real "life" in a dark corner of New Jersey; even cheerful optimists will commiserate with and come love to hate with Matt.

Shed the guilt about secretly not caring for something by picking up this little jewel of a book called I HATE EVERYTHING by Matthew DiBenedetti. The author is outrageously funny in the range of items he shares with the reader that he hates. He goes from some one liners on a page such as 'I hate not knowing everything' to pages where he glues together related ideas as in:

'I hate that wind chimes don't always chime.
I hate the wind. I hate that you saw that coming.
I hate being predictable.'

Or, more for the season:

'I hate putting up Christmas lights.
I hate when the light strands are all knotted.
I hate that one little bad bulb makes all the
other lights on the strand go out.

I hate when it's time to take down the
Christmas lights.
I hate when people leave their Christmas lights
up all year long.
I hate that I don't have the audacity to
do that myself.'

There are probably not too many things Matthew DiBenedetti doesn't hate, but instead of this being a book from a whiner and complainer, the manner in which he places his feelings is so entertaining and also so well designed (on lined notebook paper with very clever line drawing illustrations) that reading the book keeps a smile on your face. How can someone be so negative in content and produce such a positive book? I hate that! Grady Harp, November 10

I bought this for my mom for christmas because she really does hate everything. I skimmed through the book and I loved it. Its incredibly funny and really makes you think about the author. When my mom unwrapped the present, she seemed offended at first but when she opened it and began to read it she was laughing the whole time. Its clever and contradicting. I recommend this book for everyone!

I had a chance to read this book this past weekend and it really drew me in! Very funny and an easy read. I kept trying to stop but turned to each page with anticipation of his next slant on those everyday events we often overlook but are just plain Funny!

Bought this for my husband. It's a fun book to read and does get you thinking. Didn't realize how many things I hated too. And I hate that. :)

Sure you'll commiserate with the first few pages, but this thing is thick. It's cute, and it's fun to pick up every once in a while, but it doesn't have a lot of "replay".

Very entertaining read. I don't quite hate everything
the author does, but I thought of a few things I could add to his list. Glad Amazon recommended it to me.

I hate this book. Really. It's a long, sad list that was hardly funny. Felt really petty after flipping around and reading a few pages. It's not punny (hell, he probably hates those too), witty or clever. It literally felt like he just kept a pen and notebook around and then judged everything and everyone he saw. I could do that. So could my neighbors. Everyone could probably find more relatable things to hate on and throw in a joke or two while they're at it. Gave it several tries, but couldn't see the humor. Pass it.

I Hate This Book. No, seriously, my wife says this should be my bible. Whenever I'm having a bad day, I just turn to a random page, read what Matthew hates and say to myself, "Hey, I hate that too" and laugh. Pick it up, it'll make you smile.
