5.0 out of 5 stars I laughed out loud reading this book.
It's been a long time since a book made me laugh out loud while reading it. I took this to the car dealership to read while having my car worked on. I was laughing so hard, people were staring at me.

I hope she writes a follow-up book that centers more on the parents of kids I hate. This book touches on it, but I do believe there's an entire book to be...

3.0 out of 5 stars Lost in translation?
I was looking forward to this book after seeing Ms. Frost on CNN. While I love the concept and idea behind it, in the final analysis it just isn't all that amusing.

After reading it, I wondered if this book had its beginnings in a stand-up routine. I think the material might have worked better in that medium and something got lost in the transition to the...

It's been a long time since a book made me laugh out loud while reading it. I took this to the car dealership to read while having my car worked on. I was laughing so hard, people were staring at me.

I hope she writes a follow-up book that centers more on the parents of kids I hate. This book touches on it, but I do believe there's an entire book to be written on the subject. I'm glad Ms. Frost wasn't too PC - she said just what she felt.

Although I would've preferred no profanity, I was surprised that the book didn't overuse it. There were a few vulgar remarks, but overall, this book was wonderful. And hilarious.

5.0 out of 5 stars if you've ever wanted to strangle a small child..., February 25, 2006

then this is the perfect book for you! Unfortunately it isn't heavy enough to do any damage should you choose to smack said child with. But this book will make you laugh out loud. Makes a great passive agressive gift for any relatives with small "angels" of their own.

5.0 out of 5 stars I'm a parent who loves this, March 1, 2006

I'm glad this is only $10, because I'll be ordering some as gifts. I kept finding myself thinking, "Yeah, I hate kids like that" . . . then hoping my kids aren't seen like that. Funny. Infuriating. Accurate. Frost goes from perfect representations of reality to extreme satire so quickly you can get whiplash. A great read . . . especially for the looks you get in public from parents with wild children.

5.0 out of 5 stars I suspect...., June 16, 2006

that the very few people who gave this book a poor rating, are the same people who are the PARENTS of the brats this book is talking about. Having to deal with the little hellions at our park on a constant basis, this book really helped me to gain some perspective and at least not pull all my hair out at one time.

5.0 out of 5 stars Absolutely Hilarious, February 17, 2007
By
This review is from: I Hate Other People's Kids (Paperback)
This book was laugh-out-loud funny.

Frost takes a great look at how "adorable" children often appear to those who are not their parents.

It describes the various types of children, how the behave in public and private places, and gives a few tricks for "taking them on in battle."

The book really isn't mean spirited toward kids, but is instead directed at those parents who think their kids are "adorable" when really they are normal kids who would benefit from a smack on the bottom.

Everyone who has ever had to sit next to a disruptive child in a restaurant or movie, has had to hear a parent go on and on about their child, or and "non-child person" who has been thrust into an unwanted interaction with someone else's kids will love this book.

Not a good gift for new parents or those who can't see the humor, so recommend with care.

I received this book as a gift and plan also to give it as one.

5.0 out of 5 stars The funniest book I've ever read, August 2, 2006
This review is from: I Hate Other People's Kids (Paperback)
I don't want kids. But when I tell other people that, they give me looks of shock and horror. All of a sudden, I'm a potential serial killer rather than a happy woman in her 20s. This book allowed me to see that there are OTHER people out there who DON'T like kids and DON'T want kids. Adrianne Frost's writing is HILARIOUS... I was laughing on every page. This is a great book to show to people who angrily ask you, "How can you NOT want kids?!?" From cover to cover, this book lists every single reason I've chosen to remain childless.... and it's done with sass and humor.

5.0 out of 5 stars Needs To Be Said, March 29, 2006

Finally, an amusing and truthful book that says not only what a lot of people have grumbled about under their breaths for years, and not just those who are childfree. I loved the sarcasm towards a child-centric society that simply will not teach their kids about respect ane responsibility. I hope Ms. Frost's next book takes a swipe at teenagers, since she did not focus on them in her current book.

Adrianne Frost has done a great, humor-filled job summing up the feelings of every person in this country who has had a small American kick the back of their chair for an entire 8 hour flight.

Great read!

It doesn't take a village. It takes a villager.

4.0 out of 5 stars Funny for people who like kids too, May 12, 2007

I am 9 months pregnant. I've worked with kids most of my adult life. While I would categorize myself as someone who likes kids alot (more then most adults) this book was hilarious. You can like kids and still be irritated with some of them. (Mostly the parents fault.) That being said the part about the ugly babies was kind of a bummer for me since I'm about to have my first. If my baby's ugly, I'll still love him. I'd whole heartedly recomend this book for anyone that can take a joke or has a sense of humor. If you get easily offended or have an irritating kid, I probably would say find another book.

5.0 out of 5 stars FINALLY!!, March 27, 2006
This review is from: I Hate Other People's Kids (Paperback)
There are probably millions of books in print dealing with the subject of children. Only one of them deals with the horror of Other People's Children. Adrianne Frost tells it like it is. This book was everything I expected it to be with a whole lot of stuff I didn't expect such as a history of OPC-hating. Brilliant! I can't wait to see what she does next. Buy a copy for yourself and buy a copy to leave somewhere strategic like the doctor's lobby or Starbucks.
