Pleasantly Surprised,

I'm not going to pretend to like The Pussycat Dolls, and if it weren't for catching this song while watching VH-1's Top 20 Countdown, I may have never heard it. But, that very first time caught my attention, and no, it wasn't because of the video.
If you strip away the embellishments of the production, at the core you'll find a well-crafted break-up song. I find the title to be interesting and clever, the lyrics simple yet effective (many should find they can relate), the melody stronger than average for a pop song, and last but not least, Nicole Scherzinger's vocals sound passionate and convincing.

Another PCD song which ends up getting played everywhere you go and grows on you.

I hate this song,
By Amaranth "music fan" (Northern California) - See all my reviews

"I hate this part" is the Pussycat Dolls' attempt at a soulful breakup song. It's as soulful as the Muzak played at a mall. There are blase attempts to be R&B,but let's admit it, Beyonce is better. Because she's a SINGER. The Pussycat Dolls make "I hate this part" into something whiny and bland. They are better off--and more credible--as lingerie models. They can't sing, and the bare bones instrumentation doesn't help. Nor does it help that they've done an atrocious remake of the Oscar-winning Bollywood song "Jai Ho!" from Slumdog Millionaire. Their take on that song (a sonic blasphemy) explains why,in Bollywood, the dancers don't sing. They're lip-synching.
