excellent songwriting!!!, April 23, 2011

As a fan of heavy music with female vocals, I find it SOOO HARD to find bands where the vocalist is singing honestly with THEIR OWN voice. It seems all the female vocalists in the world of heavy music want to sing opera or scream and growl at us.It is very refreshing to find a band like lucubro that blends well crafted heaviness with an excellent and honest singer. When I say "honest" I'm refering to a REAL vocal performance... warts and all.There is no studio trickery here folks!Everything from the occasional squeal to the deliberate "not perfectly synched" harmony vocals are wonderful to hear. I LOVE the fact that I can hear every little thing in this mix!The songs range from the melodically heavy to the bludgeoningly heavy. That's right... it's all heavy! hahahah! (minus one beautifully sad acoustic song)The band is long gone but you would be a fool to not pick this up! I might get a backup copy myself!!!
