Danny Aiello is not only a GREAT actor, but a WONDERFUL singer as well. I absolutely LOVED this CD from the minute I heard the opening song. I had first heard Mr. Aiello sing a few bars of a song on a Frank Sinatra Birthday Celebration Special and wondered why he hadn't recorded any songs professionally. I really enjoyed listening to his styling and phrasing...... he does have a very nice voice and his honesty really comes across. I LOVED the song selections offered on this CD. Hearing these songs brought back so many fond memories for me. I am so glad to see that Mr. Aiello is keeping the art of crooning alive and am looking forward to his future CD releases. I highly recommend this CD for anyone who appreciates the great art of crooning and GREAT music from a very talented singer. Thanks Danny!!!

Danny Aiello's new CD is wonderful; the songs are great and bring back lots of terrific memories listening to them. I wish him lots of luck with the CD and look forward to his next CD!

I saw Danny on the Regis and Kelly Show and went out to buy the album since I've always liked his movies. This is NOT a vanity album: this man CAN REALLY SING!!! I wasn't familiar with all the songs before listening to the album, but have become smitten with Besame Mucho. Almost all the songs are great!!! The album has become a fixture in my car CD player--makes the morning commute something to look forward to.

I love it! I never knew that he sang, now we want more! Danny's rendition of "You Belong to Me" is absolutely wonderful! I love this song, and This is the best arrangement I've ever heard. The title of the album is so apropros - "I just Wanted to Hear the Words" - you can't understand the words of the so-called music the kids listen to today. You can hear and appreciate EVERY WORD of this CD!

I origionally bought this album as a gift and ended up keeping it. Danny Aiello delivers a credible standards record with a feel good vibe and the band is great.

These songs Danny Aiello choose brings me fond memories. I feel He has done fantasic and would recommend this CD to everyone. It is a beautiful CD.

Yes. Danny Aiello, the actor. At first glance, I figured that this was just another vanity production. But when I heard this one I was pleasantly surprised: He really does have a good singing voice. And after a couple of weeks, I caught myself listening to Aiello's release over and over again. No, he isn't one of the greats, but his recording has really grown on me.

What Aiello brings to this collection is what makes him so good as an actor: the ability to tell a good yarn and convince his audience through well-delivered dialogue--in this case, lyrics. There are plenty of sentimental favorites here. His version of the Mills Brothers' hit "I'm Gonna Sit Right Down and Write Myself a Letter" captures the right balance between hopefulness and loneliness, and brings back a lot of memories from my own childhood (it's one of my father's favorites). On bossa nova arrangements of Cole Porter's "You'd Be So Nice to Come Home To" and Pee Wee King's "You Belong to Me," Aiello glides effortlessly from singing on the beat to the backbeat. His scat covers of "It's a Sin to Tell a Lie" and "Pennies from Heaven" remind me a lot of Buddy Greco's showstoppers.

Aiello is for real. I eagerly await his next release and hope it's sooner rather than later.

Danny Aiello is just terrific in his new roll as crooner. He may not have all the attributes of a great singer but he comes through with integrity and honesty where many classic recording artists fail succeed. This is a wonderful effort by a very talented 'every man'. He is backed up by a great group of musicians who help him deliver the goods, which he does in a thoroughly enjoyable way. I've played the album in my office for patients, and each and every one has commented with enthusiasm on his accomplishment.

As he has done many times in the past, Danny has really come through and shown his true ability. Danny adds his own style and class to a beautiful collection of songs. His performance on the Today Show really showed that he has that important thing that a singer should have, talent!! I would recommend this record to anyone who enjoys good music and appreciates that certain sparkle that separates good music from great music.
