It's a shame that the band never broke in the United States the way they should have. The fickle UK market made "Spirit in the Sky" a number one single, but also wrote the band off as a novelty act. Maybe they were and maybe they weren't, but it can't be denied that Doctor & The Medics were a unique formula, and they wrote some damn good songs.

"I Keep Thinking It's Tuesday" doesn't really break any new ground for the band, but it does feature higher production values than the debut "Laughing At The Pieces".

"More" was the lead-off single in the UK, and it had a great accompanying video as well, a mock movie trailer that featured parodies of several other well-known iconic videos, like Peter Gabriel's "Sledgehammer". The song itself is classic Medics, with a cracking arrangement and melodic harmonies from the Anadin Brothers (Wendi & Collette). "Drive He Said" features some brass in it, something new to the band's sound. The lyrics don't always make sense, like "Gorilla", but I suppose that's the "psychedelic" aspect of the band. The point of the Medics is their odd mixture of glam, hard rock, pop music, soul, and whatever else they happen to like.

This was the last of the full length albums with the classic Medics lineup, and it's well worth picking up. Be advised that there are two different pressings of this album with two different track listings. The original UK version contains three songs not on the version released in the United States, which contains the Medics remakes of "Waterloo" and "Burning Love", as well as completely different mixes of "More" and "Drive He Said".
