Kimberly Norman is a children's book author and graphic designer. She lives with her husband and two sons in Smithfield, Virginia.

Henry Cole is a self-taught artist and the beloved illustrator of more than twenty books for young readers. He lives in Wilton Manors, Florida.

Kim Norman's children's books have been published by Dial, Dutton, Sterling and Scholastic. Her books have been well-reviewed in publications such as the New York Times and Publishers Weekly, and have been distributed in Scholastic Book Fairs and take-home Club fliers. Kim has built a national reputation as a school presenter, having done author visits in more than a hundred schools around the country.

Kim is an actress and singer, and has been known to practice her time step in a grocery line. Her books often feature animals, which were a big part of her childhood. Family pets included unusual critters such as a squirrel, an iguana and a raccoon named Danny.

The text and the illustrations of this excellent picture book absolutely go together. Kids will love hearing it read to them, and parents will love reading it to the kids. And... it so happens that the author, Kimberly Norman, lives in Smithfield, the pig capital of our country. She knows whereof she writes. We have checked this book out from the library numerous times and now I need to order it to keep. It is fun to read and great to help children learn colors and reinforce literacy skills.
