Eva died years ago, too young, from cancer. She had never hit the big time in her lifetime but gained fame posthumously as the word spread about her amazing voice . There is a particular poignancy in her music, because she knew her life was ending, and you can hear it in her song choices and the passion of her singing. There is a life force in this music, and also grief and tears. This is not background music; it is music to be heard with full attention and full appreciation for an artist whose time was short but her gift was large.
