My son got this for his second birthday and we love it. It's such a sweet story and the illustrations are great! It's not really long which is great for us becuase we have trouble getting him to sit still for very long, but it's also not too short either. Get this book for your toddler!

My daughter has loved this book from the moment we brought it home! My husband and I love to read it to her. It has such personlity written into each page and the illustrations are beautifully done. McBratney and Fuge are a terrrrrific combo for children's books. I even went back online to find more books written and illustrated by the two because we love this one so much.

Oh no! Little Roo the kangaroo is feeling grumpy.

He doesn't know why. He just is.

He's so grumpy, he doesn't even feel like playing. Now that's grumpy!

His mother is determined to change all that. She wants him to smile and says he'll feel better when he does.

She tickles him. No luck. She flips him over her head. No luck. She throws leaves on him. No luck.

Nothing she tries is working. Little Roo won't budge a smile.

Not until his mother slips him in her pouch and hops, hops, hops and then slips, slips, slips into a muddy hole does Roo do the unthinkable. He actually cracks a grin.

I Love It When You Smile is a sweet mother and child story for parents to enjoy with their children. The book is aimed at children ages 2-6 and will dazzle young children and even adults with its illustrations.

i love the author and illustrator!! the story is so fun and sweet and the pictures are so beautiful. it is one i always always enjoy reading and my kids (4, 2) enjoy it too. highly recommended!

The illustrations, the story, the characters- wonderful!!! Charles Fuge and Sam McBratney do a fantastic job!!! DEFINITELY a treasure on the book shelf.

I got this for my daughter when she was 5 and she is now 8 and we just LOVE this book! She loves the pictures and thinks the book is an all around fun book to read. In fact, she now reads it to me! It has fairly large print, which is great for her because she can't make out small print. Basically, we love this book and I would recommend it to anyone with children!

Very sweet story with wonderful illustrations. Was inspired to buy this book because my nephew is always smiling, so this reminded me of him. I think he will enjoy this book for years to come.

Great story, great illustrations, wonderful job all around. This is one of my personal favorite books that I read to my girls, and trust me when I say I read a lot of them.

The story is simple, a young kangaroo named Roo is grumpy for no real reason. His mom does everything she can think of to get him out of his bad mood. The las page features one of the cutest drawings you'll ever see. An instant classic.
