As I read I Love You, I Do by Christie Joh'nell for some reason Aretha Franklin's "Baby I Love You" was going through my head. It was very befitting for the characters that I first met in Ms. Joh'nell's debut novel, Spend My Life With You. Janet and Eric are happily in love and planning for their future, however, when life throws them a curveball, their feelings for one another is tested. For Janet, it seems as though everything in her life is in absolute chaos. Her ex-husband, Jordan, keeps trying to express his feelings for her, her best friend, Melody, is acting weird and Janet is trying to find out why. Emotions are running high and lives will forever be changed. Will Janet and Eric survive? Will Melody reveal what is going on with her and why she is being distant?Like her first book, Ms. Joh'nell brought the drama in the sequel. She had me shaking my head saying "Oh no you did not!" The actions made it the story a serious page-turner. I do not like that I had to lower my rating due to editing issues. This book could easily have received a 4/4.5 rating if it was better edited. However, I still recommend I Love You, I Do to readers who enjoy romance and suspense. The author provided this book for review purposes. Jennifer Coissiere APOOO BookClub
