Missing Key Songs,
By
This review is from: I Love You Man (Audio CD)
Apart from the aforementioned track "The Underdog" by Spoon, the other key song missing in this soundtrack is Ray LaMontagne's "You Are the Best Thing." I just watched the movie and only saw it once, so I don't quite recall what scene both of these songs appeared in, but I can tell you the songs had a very big presence--the kind that make you say, "I love this soundtrack, man." They were not songs that are barely audible or that if you flinched you missed them, yet somehow make it on the soundtrack. The soundtrack is not complete without these two songs, trust me. Also, if you don't want to get the whole soundtrack, you can go to go to the individual artist and download just the song you liked. Of note and if I'm not mistaken, the Spoon song does not appear at the beginning of the film, as it was suggested earlier. I'm pretty sure it's the Latch Key Kid song that opens the movie. I'm pretty sure the Spoon song is about a quarter-way into the film. I have to give it three stars because these two songs are such huge omissions. Having said that, the majority of the songs on this soundtrack are quite good.

I really loved the music when I saw the movie, so I decided to pick up the soundtrack, which is great. A great mix of Indie, such as Vampire Weekend and rock, such as RUSH, which was very prominent in the movie. I noticed that there are a few songs missing that were in the movie that I thought should have been on here. "The Underdog" by Spoon, Ray LaMontagne's "You Are the Best Thing.", and "The Yeah Yeah Yeah Song." By The Flaming Lips. Other than those missing tracks, a great soundtrack.

What a fantastic soundtrack! Great mix of indie and well known artists. It's great to see a major studio like Dreamworks include a talented and up and coming artist like Latch Key Kid with established artists such as Vampire Weekend and Beck!

The movie was awesome, but where's the song from the beginning of the movie, "Underdog" by Spoon? That's a great song and should be on the soundtrack!
