This is a fun to read book with lovely pictures that capture the story. My son has it memorized. As an adult, I like the interplay between the child and her parents (she's imagining dinosaurs everywhere, and they keep telling her what real-life things she's seeing or hearing).

I really loved this book. I have a 7 and a 4 year old who also very much enjoyed the book. Its easy to tell that the Kirkus reviewer lacked the imagination of a child, and reviewed it from a complete adult perspective.

This book compliments antoher one I have where children see cut outs that look like one thing, but are really something else. "I Met a Dinosaur" makes the reader look closely at what is, and think about what might be. I will enjoy sharing this with my students in the fall.
