Full Review

1."Co-sign" An old school throw back hip hop vibe reminiscent of the 90's finds the ladies crooning for the love and relationship of a suitor they are head over heels for. A great song for the summer. I can hear this easily playing at family reunions or bbq's and gatherings alike.

2."All About You" A funky track also reminiscent of the 90's or even the late 80's, is sample heavy and the ladies voice the infatuation they feel about a special man. A Dj is tagged on the track to give it a club or party flair to hype listeners.

3."Show Off" A radio friendly track with elements of new jack swing without sounding too dated. the message here is about a suitor whom the ladies deem fly pleading him to "show off" and rain on them with his love. features a rapper i believe gives it a youthful radio friendly quality. I could easily hear Beyonce on a track such as this it contains that feel i get from her record "Party"

4."Everything I Love" A Bluesy R&B ballad with Pop sensibilities, the ladies croon about keeping their love strong and pleading to their man not to let their love go.

5."Do Ya" A Funk,Pop track, A sample Track borrowing from Chaka Khan and Rufus, The ladies feature a female rapper that rides the beat and delivers a slick and tasty rap followed by the ladies crooning their the best thing that ever happened for a man and does he find his new girl better?!

6."The Best Years" R&b Ballad true and through. No Funk or Pop here.

Yeah I took it back to Jodeci and that is what SWV's new disc will do for you take you back. Remember when Alicia Keys brought SWV, EnVogue, and TLC out on stage. Everyone went crazy, I know I did. SWV reminds me of my last year in high school, now nearly pushing 40 I long for the groups of my yesterday. Despite the challenges that the group has gone through, they got it together and they are back not just performing, but with a new disc (take serious notes EnVogue).

The new material is what I've been waiting to hear. Great R&B with a somewhat updated sound but still remaining true to the SWV sound. The whole cd is very listenable. Co-sign reminds you of when SWV first appeared on the scene. "Show Off" has an opening sounding like they are at a concert with references to the group Hi-Five but what really stands out to me is the chimes that you hear throughout the song from beginning to end. The chimes sound like an old Keith Sweat song (I just can't put my finger on it) "Time to Go" an easy breezy type of song, "Do Ya" is just plain funky, and I agree with one poster who mentioned "Keep you home" sounding like a song Kelly Price would sing, and "Use Me" so refreshing to hear TAJ singing the hook. Dare I not forget to mention the remake of "If only you knew"...killer. It is very nice to hear all 3 ladies singing which really helps you to appreciate their namesake like never before. I believe this is the disc they should have released after "New Beginning". What a great return to form and a welcome back to one of my beloved 90's urban groups.

Oh, get the Target exclusive for the bonus tracks.

I love this c.d and it ranks very close to the New begining c.d, (which is my favorite c.d of theirs). It is an updated verion of the music you're used to hearing from them. Leelee has quite a bit of leads which is refreshing (I love the rasp in her voice), taj sounds good as well, Coko is in exquiste voice this outing, the ladies are very impressive. Favorites would be "love unconditionally", "if only u knew" (Coko killed this), "there'll never be", ( I love their take on it), "better than I", "the best years", "I missed us", "keep you home", "time to go", and "everything I love". Really I didn't hear a song I didn't like, you can listen all the way through! I'm loving this, and I hope people support their effort, they have given us a great record!

One of the most successful R&B trio of the 90's are back and I can honestly say back with a vengeance.

After breaking up in 1998 to pursue solo projects, and reunited in 2005.

SWV (Sister with Voices...Coko, Taj & LeLee) has released their 4th project "I Missed Us" and what I respect most about this project is that they didn't change their style by trying to compete with today's new school artists. You still hear that 90's flavor like with their first release "Co-sign" which will put you in the mind of "I'm So Into You" off their debut album "It's About Time" in 1992.

"All About You" has the sample of DJ Kool "Let Me Clear My Throat" a party song that also put me in the mind of "Anything" (Remix) in 1992 just vocally smoother. "Show Off" & "Do Ya" are also nice uptempo songs.

The slow grooves are just as good. "Keep You At Home" is one of those Mary J. Blige/Kelly Price women anthem type of song about a woman trying to do everything she can to keep her man at home but he wanna keep running them streets and her patience is slowly running out.

I'm really feeling "Time To Go" and "Love Unconditionally" but SWV really stepped up to the plate by remaking Patti Labelle's "If Only You Knew" Coko did her thing and should definitely make Patti proud.

There's a few songs that are fillers but nothing that I feel is worth critiquing. Overall, I can honestly say this a good comeback project from beginning to end.

It's always good to hear REAL quality music coming from a REAL quality group and that's REAL TALK!
