5.0 out of 5 stars You better have your SHOUTING SHOES on for this live recording!
I first heard I never lost my praise on the radio in my car here in town in Washington DC.... I about lost my mind....When I heard Tramaine sangggggging! (Those that are in to True Gospel Music know what I mean when I say Sangggggggggging!) I had to pull on the side of the road... I had to have a praise break.... I put my car in park and got my Shout on!
Tramaine...

3.0 out of 5 stars Tramaine sounds great but...
It's a little theatrical for my taste. Not sure if she went with a different MD/Producer this time but something else was lost in this transition. The title song "Never Lost My Praise" and about 3 other tracks make the album a worth-while buy. Other than that, the theatrics seem to get in the way of the overall flow. Sorry Tramine

Tramaine has a true gift from GOD when she sings she leans way back and then sings from the pit of her stomach and you can hear her rage like no other.... I am mad that I missed the Live Recording when she was in the area recording this album.... This album is off the hook.... As a long time fan of Tramaine I been following her for years.... And if you dont have her previous live recording where she does a melody of Changed and Holy one and Praise the name of Jesus. I advice you to pick that one up as well. This is what we call a Diva... I love Yolonda and all the other gospel greats but there is only one Tramaine.... Yes the name says it all!

5.0 out of 5 stars Terrific and Majesticaly made and done by Tramaine., April 6, 2007
This review is from: I Never Lost My Praise (Audio CD)
This CD reflects the 5 year life span of what Tramaine Hawkins went through with the loss of both parents and a lot of in betweens. She sings these songs with the utmost passion as a mezzo-soprano and she has never lost the quality of her richness, power, annoninting, and most of all her love to sing what she has been through and knows about. THIS CD IS NUMBER 10. SHE PULLS OUT ALL THE STOPS AND TELLS OF HER TESTIMONY IN "I NEVER LOST MY PRAISE"
ALL OF HER SONGS ON THIS CD ARE OFF THE CHAIN AS THEY WOULD SAY AND SO MINISTERING TO THE SOUL THAT YOU WILL NOT GET TIRED OF HEARING IT. MY SUGGESTION TO YOU IS TO BUY IT, BUY IT, BUY IT AND BE BLESSED. Yolanda maybe the rage of this new Contemporary/traditional but no one belts it like Tramaine Hawkins. No one comes close to her annointing and ability to carry you through with her on her journey through the songs she ministers to all of us. Again buy it and stay blessed.

I can't say enough about this CD. It offers praise, worship, testimony, and thought for Christian living. Tramaine has lost nothing in her voice or in her praise. Kurt Carr adds to this wonderful musical achievement. All I can say is just go out and buy it. You will not be disappointed; and your spirit will be moved beyond words.

5.0 out of 5 stars What an incredible worship experience!!!, March 18, 2007
This review is from: I Never Lost My Praise (Audio CD)
After reading these reviews, I could not wait to get my cd in the mail. Words could not truly express what an incredible worship experience it has been listening to this live performance. I have been a Tramaine Hawkins fan since her first solo release with "Highway and "Holy One." When you listen to "I Never Lost My Praise" and read the liner notes, you realize the very difficult journey it was to even get this project recorded. I want to say "thank you" Tramaine for not giving up on the vision of recording this project. I have purchased or heard every project she has recorded and I believe this is her most "complete" recording since her last live project "Tramaine Hawkins Live." Everything is on point, from the lead vocals (as usual), the songwriting, the arrangements, the choir backing vocals, and the production work by Kurt Carr, and her son Jamie Hawkins. It's hard for me to pick my favorite selection. Other vocalists may perform great vocal acrobats, however, there is not another female gospel vocalist (as Kurt Carr testifies to on his introduction of Tramaine) who can go from the gritty gospel overdrive of "You Get The Glory" to the pure clear tone of her mezzo-soprano phrasing on "Don't Count Me Out." I smell a future Grammy and Stellar award. It's time Tramaine Hawkins gets her due for the amazing legend she is to gospel music.

Tramaine, Tramaine, Tramaine. Baby, you blew us away with this one!

The emcee opens up by introducing Tramaine as the greatest female gospel singer ever. While I don't agree with that, Tramaine is probably one of the best and most effective singers of spiritual music that I've heard. Her voice is really incredible on this LIVE recording, and it is nothing but a blessing from The Creator that she has not lost anything over the years, and has actually gained some strengths! It's nearly impossible to think this woman is closer to 60 than 50 with this kind of range and stamina. Whew.

One thing is usually consistent about Tramaine's releases. She doesn't release a set very often, compared to many other recording artists. But when she does ... watch out. You can expect quality material from beginning to end, and this set does not disappoint. Nor is it overproduced, which unfortunately seems to be this decade's bad trend for live gospel recordings. Rather, this is one of the most balanced and NATURAL-sounding spiritual sets I've heard in a few years. Kurt Carr did an outstanding job handling this project, and you can tell it was done with love and respect for God and Tramaine's gift.

Favorites? Yeah right, lol. Try picking out a needle in a haystack. But I will say this. Tramaine handles both the slow and turbocharged numbers with equal aplomb, striking that fine line between deliberation and spontaneity. That only comes with experience.

Praise God for Tramaine's ministry, better than ever after all these years. Support it. This is included in that handful of gospel albums that, after listening to it, would make you question how anyone could possibly doubt there's a God who actively cares about us after THEY listened to it.

"Don't count her out."

5.0 out of 5 stars I'm Full Off Of This CD, May 1, 2007
This review is from: I Never Lost My Praise (Audio CD)
This CD is exactly how Tramaine s/b produced and how a live concert should sound. Not too fake and overdubbed and highly anointed, and I was at the live recording. This is one of the best cd's I've heard in a long, long time!!!!!! Sing Maine!!!!!!!

5.0 out of 5 stars YES YES YES!!!!, March 7, 2007
This review is from: I Never Lost My Praise (Audio CD)
Jesus is awesome and I am thankful for the gift He has given Tramaine to bless Him with and to edify us. THIS CD is a classic indeed. I was at the live recording and I was overwhelemed. Phenomenal time in the Spirit of the Lord. As far as Tramaine is concerned, her range, tone, presence, all of it---like no other. And it is captured on this CD. More importantly, when I was there, and when I left, and even as I listen now, my attention is not on her, but the Lord...to me, that is a testimony that she is an artist that does not desire to bring glory to herself, but to minister in song in such a way where the focus is on Christ...its about the Lord and worship. The CD is A BLESSING. GREAT. WORSHIPFUL. PRAISEFUL. EDIFYING...etc...folks, get this CD and be absolutely blessed...my favorite track? mmm, probably "I Never Lost My Praise" ---the title...ALL of the songs are great though!

5.0 out of 5 stars Still a voice like no other!, March 9, 2007
This review is from: I Never Lost My Praise (Audio CD)
I cannot say enough good things about this CD! It is wonderful. This is an anointed project with Tramaine doing what she does best...sing to the glory of God. I have been a fan since her days with the Edwin Hawkins Singers, the Hawkins Family and Love Alive 1 & 2. I can't stop playing "You Get the Glory", "I Never lost my Praise", "Worship Medley" (thanks for re-visiting a Hawkins Family favorite "You're Everything to Me"). Her son Jamie has really grown up to be a great writer, pianist, singer and producer. Good Kurt Carr production also.
Buy this CD and you'll be blessed over and over!
