5.0 out of 5 stars I-Ninja ROCKS!!!!
Harken to the words of an actual gamer, someone who recognises originality, variety, fun and gameplay when he sees it.

This game rocks. Its quite simple really, the control method is intuitive and easy to master, making complex-looking moves and combos easy to execute. Running up a vertical wall and kick-jumping between buildings and platforms is just as easy as...

3.0 out of 5 stars Cute little ninja, but.....
First off, I really like the cute ninja guy. This game is pretty hilarious, and fun to play. The only real gripe I have is that some of the challenges are impossible. For example, there's this one test you can take, that unfortunately, is on a time limit. (Time limit challenges are abundant). You have 30 seconds to slingshot around this track and then rail grind to...

Harken to the words of an actual gamer, someone who recognises originality, variety, fun and gameplay when he sees it.

This game rocks. Its quite simple really, the control method is intuitive and easy to master, making complex-looking moves and combos easy to execute. Running up a vertical wall and kick-jumping between buildings and platforms is just as easy as chain-swinging over ravines or slicing an enemy in half, either vertically or horizontally.
Battling enemies is where the game comes into its own. The combat system is a cinch to learn and use and you soon find yourself fighting up to 10 foes at once. And winning!

Of the 64 levels, there are only a few I've not finished yet, due to the addictive nature of the game. just hopng it unlocks something cool! There are sword upgrades a-plenty, and defeating bosses teaches you new rage skills, which help give you a further edge over the enemy.

The speed of Sonic, the variety of Mario and the sword skills to best Zelda. How can this not ROCK?!!!

5.0 out of 5 stars Fun in a box, December 5, 2003

This review is from: I-Ninja (Video Game)
I've played this game extensively and i have to say its the most fun i've had in a long time. The way the game is put together, using elements old and new and fusing them into a coherent whole makes it a joy to play.
It doesn't take itself at all seriously, and its sense of fun draws in the player so they can't help but smile at the main characters antics.
It has a nice graphical style, cartoony but solid, control is well thought out and instinctive, and theres a decent amount of gameplay for those wanting to play to completion. Well designed gaming pleasure.

4.0 out of 5 stars Cool Ninja Game, August 24, 2004
A Kid's Review
= Durability:2.0 out of 5 stars  = Fun:4.0 out of 5 stars  = Educational:1.0 out of 5 stars
This review is from: I-Ninja (Video Game)
I bought I-ninja about three days ago, and I'm near the end!
The ninja moves are cool and all but this game is kind of short.
The story is quite entertaining and the controls are simple, but sometimes, it is intensely hard. The system is imaginative: you earn grades at the end of each mission wich help to gain new belts, like in karate! To beat each boss you need a higher belt, and to the number of grades you need for each belt increases, so you'll often come back to previous worlds. I'm 12(hey, maybe that's why i'll beat it fast!), and this game is still pretty cool. So, if you're a fan of ninjas, get this game.

4.0 out of 5 stars Good clean fun, December 8, 2003

This game is one of the most fun I've played in ages - it has all the elements to keep you entertained whilst presenting quite a challenge to even hardened gamers.

The immense variety of gameplay alongside the constant promise of the next belt and better swords throughout the game keeps you playing into the small hours, and the opportunity to play bonus levels plus replaying levels against the clock etc. allow for days of enjoyable gameplay.

Yes it's a platformer, one of many in a broad genre that has been spawning games of all qualities for decades. However, I-Ninja draws on the experiences of the past to present a distillation of the best aspects of platforming fun. And he's a Ninja with attitude - what more could you ask for?!

If you enjoy platform games, like messing around as a cartoon Ninja and are looking for some fun to occupy you for many, many hours, I-Ninja is well worth checking out.

4.0 out of 5 stars Great Family Fun Platformer, September 3, 2007
= Fun:4.0 out of 5 stars
This review is from: I-Ninja (Video Game)
I-Ninja is a cute little platformer that is clearly similar to games such as Ratchet & Clank and Gex. You're a little cartoony ninja, running around odd worlds with your sword and climbing chain.

There are numerous levels here, and as you go you build up your movies, weapons arsenal, and more. The game is very easy to pick up and get going with. You hit traditional buttons to jump and double jump, attack, and move. You can run up walls, use your chain to swing across gapes, and so on. Anybody who has played any Zelda / Ratchet / other platformers will have the basics of this game down in about 2 seconds.

That's not to say it's easy. Many of the levels can be quite challenging. You know WHAT you have to do - but you have to try over and over again to actually do it properly. This can on one hand be quite thrilling when you do make it to the end and savor your victory. On the other hand if you're a gamer who doesn't have hours and hours to devote to one level - and perhaps has a parent standing over your shoulder with a stopwatch ready to pull the plug on you - this can get really frustrating, really quickly.

There are checkpoints in the middle of missions, which helps a lot with the above-said replaying. At least you don't have to do the entire thing all over again from scratch.

The graphics are quite nice - they did a nice job with the textures and color combinations. Yes, a few things are still blocky, but this is a PS2. I really do feel they did a good job with the programming here.

All except for ... the camera!! The camera in this game drives me completely insane! There are so many times that I want to look in a certain direction and have to do a number of operations before I can get the camera to go there. You would think after all this time that game companies would make an easy to use camera system. I just don't get why i-Ninja has such a problem with this.

Still, you can live with it, and the game really is quite fun. Give it a try, and enjoy a game that can be enjoyable without swearing and mature situations!

3.0 out of 5 stars Cute little ninja, but....., June 25, 2004
This review is from: I-Ninja (Video Game)
First off, I really like the cute ninja guy. This game is pretty hilarious, and fun to play. The only real gripe I have is that some of the challenges are impossible. For example, there's this one test you can take, that unfortunately, is on a time limit. (Time limit challenges are abundant). You have 30 seconds to slingshot around this track and then rail grind to the finish. I've got the slingshot down pat. But, the rail grind part is really hard. It has these spiky bombs on it, and you have to use your sword to helicopter to the last platform to get the grade. The only problem is, the time limit is cut SO fine, that it's practically impossible to complete. I spent about two hours trying to get the grade, but finally threw my controller on the floor and gave up.

I don't normally play platformers, but I had a lot of fun with the Ratchet and Clank games, but I just can't handle the time limits in I Ninja. I do recommend this game for hard core platform gamers, though. You'll get a kick out of the ninja's sarcastic comments and funny story. There's not anything really new here, it's pretty standard fare where platformers are concerned.

The bottom line: Great (and cute) character, but very difficult in places.

5.0 out of 5 stars I-Ninja is ridiculous, September 28, 2004

= Fun:5.0 out of 5 stars
This review is from: I-Ninja (Video Game)
I love this game- the graphics are awesome, the levels are challenging- almost too challenging at some parts- but well worth it, I mean who wants to spend 40 dollars on something you can beat in a day? All of the worlds are fun and imaginative, and I-Ninja is the cutest character ever. The replayability of the game is pretty high i would say, especially since you have to replay alot of the levels 3 times for different missions. Anyhoo- I thouroughly enjoyed I-Ninja and I suggest that you at least give it a rent.
