I Outgrew The Wagon,
By John Busseno (Butler, New Jersey United States) - See all my reviews
This review is from: I Outgrew the Wagon (Audio CD)
This is the best album that I have ever heard. I love Ian Tyson's song: "Four Strong Winds" as well. I remembered hearing it back in 1988 at the opening of the XV Olympic Winter Games from Calgary. He is the best cowboy singer in North America! I recommend this album to those who want to enjoy Canadian Country Music at its best. This is one album that I truly enjoy.

Ever the Land!,
By Jim Cleary (the Minnesota House of Representatives, St. Paul, MN, USA) - See all my reviews
This review is from: I Outgrew the Wagon (Audio CD)
If you truly love the western grasslands and sagebrush steppe, then you'll love Ian Tyson's music - all of it - because he'll take you back to it like no other artist could do. You'll smell the dust and sage; you'll feel the blazing sun and stinging sleet; and you'll hear the sound of the wind in the wire. The pairie's infinite expansiveness, its quiet and loneliness and unquenchable thirstiness, its midday deadness and its spring to life at low sun, it's nourishing protection for the lucky and its steadfast brutality for the unprepared. It's all there in Tyson's muscic.

Great WESTERN music,
By rusty_phillips@yahoo.com (Texas) - See all my reviews
This review is from: I Outgrew the Wagon (Audio CD)
Ian Tyson is THE BEST at bringing us Western music that tells the real story. No Roy Rogers/Gene Autry stuff here. "I Outgrew the Wagon" is a song that tells you what it's really like to live that life. "Wind in the Wire" and "Four Strong Winds" are also great songs. Folks, Ian Tyson is what the REAL cowboys (not of the rodeo variety) listen to out on the ranges in Nevada, Arizona, New Mexico, Oregon, Wyoming and Montana. I know. I used to be one myself.
