Challenging,
By
This review is from: Poppa's Pizza Pile-Up (Toy)
My 5 year old twins really like this game...it is sometimes difficult to balance the toppings, but that is why they like it so much. On the other hand, my 3 year old finds it very frustrating. If you are considering purchasing this for a younger child you can rough up the pizza part with a piece of sand paper to help with the slippage.

I bought this thinking it would be fun for my 4-year-old, but he quickly became discouraged. The pieces slide off so easily that he was almost immediately disqualified, according to game rules. His dad and I found it difficult as well. You have to pile all the game pieces in the middle very carefully to get anywhere with this one. Where was the quality control when they invented this?!

The box says that this game is for 4-7 year olds. When my 4 yr old son got this last year we discovered that the box couldn't even read 30 years and up. Both my hubby and my brother tried to play this game unsuccessfully. The problem is that the pizza surface is too slick and the pieces will not stay balanced up there. The toppings though are really well made and Isaac had fun making pretend pizza with them but we were never able to play the game. it was a disappointment b/c it looked so cute. We bought Topple instead this year, which is the same concept.

very displeased,

None of the toppings have a chance of staying on the pizza except the one that is placed directly in the middle. The pizza is way to tipsy for any fun at all and the toppings are made of hard plastic. Trying to think of a way to modify to use it...should just send it back.

GREAT FAMILY FUN!,

This review is from: Poppa's Pizza Pile-Up (Toy)
Our 5 year old daughter got this as a holiday gift. It's turned out to be a favorite game for the entire family and friends. It's a clever, fun, fast and creative game for the whole family. Even our 2 year old son loves it - however it changes the whole out come of the game. He stands back and just throws toppings at the wobbling pie but he's entertained for 15 or 20 minutes so that's worth a lot! We'd recommend this as a birthday gift to kids because it's unique and fun.

Cute Poppa!,

We got this for our 6 yr old and she loves it. I thought it was really cute and there are a lot of pieces for the pizza! Our 4 yr old found it intimidating at first. She started to have fun when we all screamed each time a topping was placed on the pizza and it began to tip! For a more challenging game, Poppa can stand without the base. The pizza is a little slick, but the pizza toppings were made of rubber which helped (a little) keep the pieces from slipping. A lot of fun for the whole family (our 12 yr old likes it too). I recommend this game for kids 6 yrs and up.

Very Difficult to Balance,

We bought this for my 4 year old son and he became quickly frustrated with the game. The surface of the pizza is very slick thus not allowing any pieces to stay on top of it. It becomes quickly unbalanced if you do manage to keep any toppings on. Both my husband and I found it difficult as well. It looks and sounds wonderful but it wasn't a hit in our home.

This is one of our 3 years olds favorite games. She especially likes playing with her daddy. She even plays with the toppings in her play kitchen.

Pizza for Everyone,

I love this game. My four year old daughter picked this game out for herself ... Now it's hard to get her to play anything else and it is the toy her friends go to first when they come over to play. The "pizza" balances on top of "Poppa's" index finger and players try to add toppings without upsetting the pizza. The toppings have different weights and are different sizes so, while it is easy to add a piece of cheese, it is hard to balance it with a mushroom. Players roll the dice to see which topping thay are to add. Everyone in the family enjoys playing this game even though it is accesible to the very young. We had no trouble getting the toppings to stay on top (until we threw it out of balance of course.) I have fun putting it out of balance and watching my daughter carefully correct it. The best part is her older brother will play this game with her alone.

It is a fun game but also frustrating. Almost too sensitive to what you put on the pizza. Most of the time it topples over after three pieces. Can be frustrating for kids because it is hard to advance -- even for adults :)
