5.0 out of 5 stars The Best Album that He has ever made
If there is one Brian McKnight album you must own, it's this one. Sure all his other albums are good, but this one is the best. This was before his commercial success with Anytime. This album was Brian McKnight written for Brian McKnight...there was no Sean "Puffy" Combs or Darkchild production...just simple ballads that speak to you. If anything, this is...

3.0 out of 5 stars Decent Follow Up although not as strong as the first
I Remember You was Brian McKnight's sophmore CD to his excllent self-titled debut. I Remember You featured the single On Thw Down Love and the huge hit Crazy Love. I can't really remeber any other strong material but neverless the less still a good CD.

This album was Brian McKnight written for Brian McKnight...there was no Sean "Puffy" Combs or Darkchild production...just simple ballads that speak to you. If anything, this is the most relaxing of his work. It might not have Grammy nominated songs like "Back At One" or "Anytime," but it does have Emmy winner, "Everybeat of My Heart" which blows away the other two. This is McKnight at his best.

In my opinion i like brian's voice and he's very talented and for the person who said he is whining obviously he's not in LOVE be cause basically it's just album for if you are with your girl and you want to make her feel like she is special and let her know how much you love her or if you are alone sitting at home and your in the mood or you want to relax then listen to this album it's a winner .

I remember you is the best of the 4 cds Brian has released. It is full to the brim with soul and heart. His voice fits so well with the music it is hard to describe the way it sounds so good. He is one of the superior R&B artists and it is truly a must have. Get it.

5.0 out of 5 stars Ranks AT The TOP of His Releases!, June 13, 2000
By
This review is from: I Remember You (Audio CD)
This CD is (5) Five Stars unquestionably! Track number six is one of the most beautiful ballads I've ever heard ("Home" off of 'Back At One' is the best) and the lyrics are clever yet highly meaningful and sure to please the romantic types. Any young or older woman, for that matter, will be wooed by this track entitled, "Still In Love."

Moreover, the tune, "I Remember You" evokes a sensitivity that so few artists can boast about. McKnight has bragging-rights, but he is NOT the one doing the bragging as regards this super CD that is a MUST-GET of all of the CDs he has released to date.

McKnight's spiritual convictions are evidenced on the last few tracks and this is what draws his listenership back. His convictions, love, and gratitude are firmly in place as he gives his higher power ALL of the edification for his incredible talents. This is very rare and what makes McKnight such a rare and special musical commodity.

If you never go to another concert, go to one of Brian's and you will be rendered speechless and likely cry (man or woman) before his concert's end. He is, in fact, this good and he is only getting better! Brian McKnight will remain and maintain unlike so many other artists--not just because of his talents, but because of his belief in Jesus Christ! This takes courage. Perhaps this is why he has been given such remarkable talents! Get this CD please!

Respecfully, Brian G. Jett

5.0 out of 5 stars Second times a charm, August 31, 2001

This review is from: I Remember You (Audio CD)
There's this thing called a "sophmore jinx" that people say curses a person in their second effort, but McKnight blew that notion right out of the water. His second album to me takes him to another level. This time he tries to get a little street on his fans with jams like "Keep it on the Down Low" and "Up Around my Way", but where he really excels is the love ballads. The lyrics in these songs rival any great lyrics from anyone, hands down! Like in "Every Beat of my Heart" where he says,"I don't care what other people say, here underneath the stars, now Jupiter and Mars don't seem so far away....". CLASSIC! And who in their right mind could forget the lyrics in "Still in Love" along with the beautiful orchestra music in the background. WOW! As you can see, his music can really bring out the emotions of a person going through the same thing he is singing about. [....]

4.0 out of 5 stars Brian McKnight- I Remember You, November 17, 2010
This review is from: I Remember You (Audio CD)
I did not like this album at all when I first heard it, so I gave it away to some stranger (a college girl at that) who liked this guy. Brian McKnight can sing a song for sure, but I was too impatient with this record so much that I didn't realize its good quality. What got to me was its slow rhythms, displayed on most tracks, so this album is a song for the night time, folks, when you feel like making love or fantasizing alone. The lyrics were generally outstanding! Here's my review of the songs:

-"On the Down Low" has a groovy beat that talks about a dating lady who wants to have "you" (you being the person who hears the lyrics). You ever had this happen to you? Well, if you had, then this song is for you.
-"On the Floor" is, as you probably expected, a sexual track that even mentioned a line from Socrates in it.
-"Your Love is Ooh" is all about loving. Slow bedtime beat.
-"Up Around My Way" shows McKnight's flirtatious side with lyrics like "We go together like potter and clay/I'd fly around the world just to be close to you/You're hotter than the fourth of July." Kinda has a club beat to it.
-"Anyway" starts off with lyrics about McKnight's regrets with regards to love, then it gets into how it cherishes love with singing that goes harmoniously with the slow beat.
-"Still in Love" is like a great ballad! I cannot believe that this singer used such lyrics in this. The beat brought tears to my eyes as it went along with the fabulous lyrics: "When the eagles forget how to fly/when it's twenty below in July/and when violets turn red/and roses turn blue/I'll be still in love with you." That's just the chorus!
-"Every Beat of My Heart" is another ballad (no surprise) that displays Brian's urge to have somebody. Nice! The lyrics were okay; nothing brilliant.
-The title track is a ballad is a sad song about reminenscing youth of a girl and a boy and tells about how Brian remembers what she wore, how he acted and stuff until she "moved away."
-"Must Be Love" has a hot slow beat that includes lyrics of McKnight's many past lovers until someone special changed his notion of love.
-"Crazy Love." You should know this song. This was the album's hit. Talks about showing care and love for another. Great rhythm.
-"Marilie." It's funny to notice how McKnight used a single Spanish line in this ballad and all the rest of the lines are English. Another love song.
-"Kiss Your Love Goodbye." Don't need to mention lyrics. Nice singing though. Ballad.
-"You" sounds okay. Nothing special. Nothing different.
-"The Day the Earth Stood Still" was spectacular as you'd expect from mentioning or thinking of its title. Religious slow song.
-"Niko's Lullaby," the last track, is short without a beat.

You won't regret having nice lyrics to inspire your day.

5.0 out of 5 stars Again with a beautiful cd @}->---, September 12, 2006
By
This review is from: I Remember You (Audio CD)
All of Brian's cds are great. This is another of those. It's over 11 years old now, but I still love it and I don't think it's really dated at all.
Crazy Love is the absolute standout on this; it's so mellow and sexy and fantastic bedroom music. Also my other favourites are Must Be Love, Kiss Your Love Goodbye and Day The Earth Stood Still. One thing I notice he does, is always sing within good range so he's staying safe and choosing the kind of material to release that will keep him sounding good. I absolutely love this kind of late night Quiet Storm and fans of his won't be disappointed in this cd. It delivers all the good kind of music we've come to love from him, and while it may not be his best cd, it's still a favourite with me.

5.0 out of 5 stars This is one of the best cd's I've ever heard!!!, October 25, 1999
This review is from: I Remember You (Audio CD)
This cd in my opinion is one of the best cd's I have ever heard. Brian Mcknight is a very talented man, he seems to know just how to explain the love you feel for another person whether it be man or woman. His cd's, not only this one, makes you want to fall in love if your not already in love, and are even better when you do have a significant other. I would reccomend this album to anyone who really wants either to plan a romantic evening with someone special or who just may be curious about what love feels like. Brian is the way to go!
