for young children,

There are 4 parts to this game. First is called Match Attack. In this game there are different shapes scrolling down the left side of the screen, and the player has to send the matching pieces over. Second and most challenging is called Grid Grab - in this game the player is presented with a pattern at the top of the screen. There is a grid of shapes below and the player has to select the match out of the grid horizontally, vertically, or diagonally.Riddle Round Up presents a poem that lists a bunch of different items and the player must pick all the them out of a big pile - think scavenger hunt. This game requires the riddle to be read so the child would require an adult for this one. This is fairly entertaining. Lastly there is Hoop Drop - in this game there are sets of items in hoops moving across the screen and the player sorts new items into them. This is more interesting than it sounds because the sets aren't always the same type - for instance 3 sets might be birds, action figures, and red things. Also the hoops are moving by fairly fast and the item must be manipulated up, down, left, and right to get into the hoop. This seems to be the most fun. This is definitely a game for the very beginning gamer (I estimate ages 3 to 5) and could probably be said to be partly educational as there is a lot of pattern matching and sorting. I almost hate to say this because there are so few Gameboy games for young chidren, but I don't think this game will have a whole lot of replay value. It is the only thing I've found for edu-fun on the go - maybe good for a several hours of fun on a car trip.

As a gaming parent with a 6 and 10 year old this is a great game to have. the games are straight forward and easy to understand and look just like the pictures in the books! I would love to have all the I spy books in a game form like this. Much easier to use for traveling and two or more can play by passing it around!

This game is great no matter how old or young you may be! This is the first game that my 4 year old didn't become disgusted with in mere seconds - although he did need help reading the riddles in the Riddle Round-up. I even became addicted myself with the Match Attack. My 6 year old enjoys the game as well - we ran down his battery playing it the very first day!
My only complaint is that the "target" needs to be slightly more sensitive when doing the Riddle Round-up - especially when hunting for tiny items.

NOW WITH THE GAME BOY PLAYER THIS GAME IS EVEN EASIER TO PLAY FOR THOSE YOUNG ONES SINCE THE GAME BOY PLAYER ENLARGES THE SCREEN OF THE GAME ON YOUR TV MAKING THE ITEMS A BIT EASIER TO FIND.EITHER WAY ITS A GREAT CHALLENGE FOR YOUR KIDS PROVIDING HOURS OF FUN.

If you liked solving riddles in the I Spy books, you'll love all the fun in this video game! There are 4 games that are extremely fun, but entirely educational! Some reading is required.
Here are the games: Match attack: The walls are closing in! Hurry and match the items before they hit the wall! You can match them by how they look, what color they are, what letter they start with, or what they rhyme with. Match them in a row to get chattering teeth power-ups, which will get rid of anything! Grid grab: Find everything in a row according to the picture displayed. Can you get them all in time for a bonus? Riddle round-up: Brand new riddles to solve that can take you most anyplace. To the beach, the candy store, a traffic jam, even to outer space! Hoop drop: Put everything in their proper hoops. Please note: If 2 hoops cross over, one for red things, and one for things that have wheels, something red with wheels must go in the middle. Want to solve the ultimate riddle? Enter ISPYER at the name writing menu. You will be taken to the ultimate riddle, where you have to find stuff from each of the riddle round-up scenes. Don't forget, because of its save feature and portability, You won't miss a minute of the fun and education I Spy challenger has to offer!

Fun for parents who can't handle the hard kid games!,

I bought this for myself. At 33 I've never mastered the multi tasking of complex video games. I enjoyed this game, almost to the point of it relaxed me (like knitting-just kidding). But, I must say, I did beat the game quicker than I thought. I've topped out already, it needs to be just a bit harder. I'd say this game is better for the younger kids, or for adults. BUT NOT TEENAGERS!

We haven't tried this game yet, but my 10-year old loves the I Spy books. He has three that he keeps at his bedside every night. What better progression than to pick this game. Very hard to find. Thanks Amazon.com. Santa will be visiting our house on Christmas eve. I spy a lot of fun for both my boys with this brain challenging game.

Time allowed for returns to be credited to account,

I am hoping that I get my credit to my account before much longer.when I placed the order it stated it was a video game, not a game boy game. I returned it 1 week after I received it for full credit to my account less shipping charges. this was on July 18,2003, certified mail. to day I have heard nothing. I would like to give the supplier a good report on the promptmess of shipping out my order, but will have to wait and see.(I can not rate this game as my granddaughter does not have a game boy. I had to put something in the spot) thanks Betty Lloyd |
