A great book for children to see art and play I Spy,
By
This review is from: I Spy a Lion: Animals in Art (Hardcover)
This book is great, Oscar our son loves it. You play I Spy with the animals suggested in famous pictures. Once he knows the pictures by heart we just make up the next I spy object. He is 2 and a half so the age recommendation is a little high, its perfect for younger children to learn about animals. A great and original present form his brandparents.

An Amazing Intro to Art,
By Renée CK (Atlanta, GA) - See all my reviews
This review is from: I Spy a Lion: Animals in Art (Hardcover)
I had to take my son to the urgent care center to have his wrist x-rayed. While waiting for the slides to come back, I picked this book up not expecting much. Once I opened it, I was so impressed with the idea that children get in introduction to art by looking for elements in classic works by artists such as Picasso. My 5 year old son was not overly impressed with it at first but I think my 2 year old daughter is going to LOVE it.
After 2 pages of I Spy With My Little Eye, he began insisting that he find something for me to spy in the picture which was great because HE was scanning the art for an element he liked. What a way to introduce art to youngsters! This book is a great, fun way to begin a lifetime of art appreciation. |
