Johnny Hartman has a wonderful smooth Baritone voice and this recording of him highlights it brilliantly. Johnny Hartman is most famous for his collaboration with the immortal Saxaphonist John Coltrane. Although not as outstanding as that recording, this album is excellent and very nice to listen to on those dark nights enjoying the sounds of good Jazz. From "Mam'selle" to "I thought about you" every song he sings is clear and wonderful to listen. This album is highly recommended to all Johnny Hartman fans and those who enjoy a great Jazz vocalist.

"SOULFUL EXPOSURE",
This review is from: I Thought About You (Reis) (Audio CD)
An enchanting escape into the the nether world of soulful bliss. Johnny Hartman is one of the all time greats(albeit one who never made the commercial breakthrough). Few artists can deliver you from the stressful experiences of today into the comforting realm of musical tranquility.I only wish others can feel and therefore experience his melodic mastery. This musical presentation as well as his many others is truly worth so much more than one can possibly imagine.

loved this cd!!!! after finding hartman on the bridges of madison county soundtrack quite by accident he has become one of my favorite, although I prefer his, as others, in quite less jazz overtones to the "slither effect"!!!
