I wouldn't comment on the story for it is claimed to be a real one but some editing could be done to make the book tolerable.

I bought this book because I had heard it was absolutely horrible.

So, being a connoisseur of bad literature (I did, for the record, made it to page 126 of 50 Shades of Grey), I had to check it out.

And to be honest, I was not disappointed.

Ravinder Singh is not a writer. Ravinder Singh is what happens when a guy with MS Word and lots of free time decides he wants to learn typing.

The story is pulled from stray leitmotifs scattered throughout Bollywood films. The prose is atrociously bad. I've hired freelancers online for $1 per hour who can turn in better prose.

Not content writing nightmare inducing prose alone, Ravinder Singh also wants to share his philosophical insights into life within the 200 odd pages that make up this "book".

Sample this piece of Confucian wisdom:

"We human beings have such a weird nature - while asleep, we hate the person who is trying to wake us up, but once we are awake, we tend to love that same person because he did the right thing".

No doubt I must now adopt Shri Ravinder Singh as my spiritual guru.

This book is all that is wrong with the Indian publishing industry, the Indian readers, and India in general. It's badly edited, extremely badly written, yet it sells a million copies because Indian readers can't read anything that isn't full of sentimental Bollywoodian pap and requires opening the dictionary from time to time. Ravinder Singh knows this and has built a career exploiting the innate helium-headedness of Indian readers. But to confer on him the title of "writer" - a title people like Amitav Ghosh and Salman Rushdie bear as well - is a huge disservice to not just the writing profession, but to language, ANY language.

Please save yourself some agony and stay clear of this book.

This is a beautiful and an inspiring love story. Incredibly romantic and gut-wrenching! Ravinder Singh chooses simple words to dish out a tale of honesty straight from his heart! What makes the story even more painful is the fact that it is inspired by happenings in the author’s real life. You can easily curl up and finish this book in 2-3 hours as you won’t be able to put it down!

I liked the hype generated around the concept and it builds the love factor in the reader. But it comes out as an ordinary story, lot of people have gone through it - could have been better. Sometime in the middle of the book it went quite mundane for me. Most of the time it's raining, I haven't heard India receiving so much rain!

This one was one of the worst books that I've ever read. I was asked to read this book by a friend who wanted to prove the height of lameness of this book. The hero is the *shona* n his heroine is the *shonimoni*. Parts of the book were well written( by well i meant toleeable) but parts of it were plain pathetic. I wouldn't comment on the story for it is claimed to be a real one but some editing could be done to make the book tolerable. There are too many hindi touches to make the book a complete no no for non indians. overall the story, writing style n hindi tv serial like cliches fail to impress.

Well written, felt few scenes were described more than necessary. But said that a worth the time spent on reading.
