Absolutely Beautiful,
By
This review is from: I Try (Audio CD)
Macy Gray possesses a sultry voice that lures listeners to her. Matched with lyrics that just about anyone can empathize with, I TRY invites us to sing a long with Gray and remember the last time we fell in and out of love: "Though I try to hide it,it's clear--my world crumbles when you are not near ..." The unpretentious and sparse beats and minimal background intrumentation lets us enjoy her singing without distraction. You almost want to tell her, "I know how you feel because I've been there too." I Try is an absolutely beautiful and timeless song.

This is a great CD. Even though her voice is some what differint I think it is a good recording. This CD would probably be most injoyable for people who are relaxed in life and want to try something new! But I think a lot of other people would like it also. This is a really great single. If you like the song I Try than you should get the Full CD! This is a great song!

I Try to say goodbye........,

Her voice is a strange mix of almost babyish gurgle mixed with Marge Simpson and she sounds like anyone the world over does first thing in the morning after a night out on the tiles. This is an excellent song, a tale of woe, a tale of hope and a fine excuse for our Macy to get down with a mighty fine song that's both radio friendly and a super cool anthem. All is fine and dandy on planet Macy - this will make you smile and sing your lil' heart out. Respect!

I'm giving this disc 5 stars for the remixes especially for the JayDee remix, he reinvented the song. The original song is incredible as well. Though the price tag may be high, the songs are worth it.

Macy is the best,

This review is from: I Try (Audio CD)
Macy Gray is one of the few singers out there who dares to take risks. She has an unconventional voice, original lyrics and funky, new music. Anyone with a heart should feel some connection with the deep and heartfelt lyrics to her terrific second single, "I Try."

At first I bought her album "On How Life Is"; It was so good i bought her other singles as well just for the b-sides. After buying this, you'll wonder how you lived without it. One Thing, never buy her live stuff, her Glastonbury performance was not the best. Still though......
