This killa bee takes it back to the days when Wu-Tang was on top. Hands down, this the best HIP HOP album to come out in 07. As soon as you put the disc in, you feel like you went back in time in the year 1994 when Wu-Tang ruled the airwaves. Method Man and Ghostface have come out with recent great albums, but they still did not contain that 100% whole-hearted Wu Tang sound throughout their album like this one.
The bonus dvd is interesting too. Watching the interview with Cilvaringz, you can tell this guy knows what's best and what the fans want out of Wu-Tang. Maybe his message will get through to the other members of the clan so that they can form together strong like Voltron. In the meantime, this cd should hold over the Wu-Tang fans of old.

Being that I've been a Wu Tang fan since the jump off in 93', I've seen the ups and down of the legacy, ranging from Enter the 36 to now. I've heard most of the off springs albums, killa Army, Killah Priest, Black Knights, Royal Fam and so forth. But I've been waiting for Cilarings for a damn long time and it's here and it doesn't dissapoint. The original members are all over this album, no throwaway verses, Rza is hands on dealing with the production. Wu-Elements handling the bulk of the production, 4th diciple, mathematics. It's a album that you always wanted but probably gave up anticipating after boring wu tang release after another. Although Ghostface still delivers and so does Rae and Masta killa.
The only downside is that the DVD doesn't play in a regular formatted DVD player. I had trouble accessing it on my computer and my dvd player. So that that sucks. Other wise a solid purchase. Break out the 15 bucks for this one because it just thirst your appetite for the return of the wu tang later this year...SUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUU!!!!!!!!!!!!!

True Wu-Tang,
This review is from: I (W/Dvd) (Audio CD)
On the album liner of Cilvarings' 1 is a disclaimer basically stating that guests appearing on the album do not necessarily agree with the political views stated by Cilvarings. This originally turned me away from purchasing this CD. I didn't want to be preached at by another uninformed musician about everything that is wrong with America, This and the fact that I was completely disappointed by the Wu Tangs 8-Diagrams debacle. I did a little research on Cilvarings and learned he is a Wu Tang affiliated MC from the Netherlands and of Moroccan decent, so I figured maybe he actually has something to say from a different perspective. I only hope that others can keep an open mind and give this up and coming killer bee a chance, you won't be disappointed.
Production on the album is handled by numerous talent's not to mention Cilvarings himself. The beats are classic Wu Tang, dark and raw. You can tell the RZA worked closely on this project as his influence is all over the album. Guest appearances from the original clan members abound, and lyrically Cilvarings holds his own outshining lesser known members. There is definitely a strong political message in most songs and whether you agree with it or not you have to respect his opinions. Cilvarings' passionate delivery and insightful lyrics are undeniable. In classic Wu Tang style Cilvarings shines on collaborations kicking it off on the high energy RZA assisted "Wu-Tang Martial Expert". "Sheherezad My Beloved" is an amazing song about a significant other I respect anyone writing a song to thank those that have been most supportive of their career. "Death to America" is a very powerful message in spoken word while it may be controversial to some once again you have to respect the passion in which it is delivered. "In the Name of Allah" is a classic Wu Tang track and Masta Killa is impressive as always. The anger of this conscious emcee is apparent on "Jewels" a track providing commentary on the violence in Africa among other things. I've been a diehard Wu Tang fan for years, I own basically anything related to the Wu from GFK to Killarmy, while there have been some impressive solo Wu releases as of late such as Ghostface to Masta Killa these artists have kept elements of the clan but have developed their own individual style. The Wu Tang Clan of "36 chambers" is no more but Cilvarings is the closest thing to the "Wu Tang" sound I have heard in a while. If you are a true Wu Tang fan like myself do not sleep on this release.

If you can find this album. get it, its already forsure 2007's best album and will continue to be.

This one completely caught me off guard and knocked me right out of the box. I've gone into almost every Wu-related release with extremely low expectations (I've been a fan for years, but their output of Wu and/or affiliates in the last ten years has missed much more often than hit. So I was absolutely blown away by this release. Some of the beats on this record capture the "classic" Wu sound better than anything I've heard from the camp in years. As an emcee, I think Cilvaringz definitely holds his own, especially considering some of the legends he is performing with here. I haven't heard Raekwon, Method Man, Gza and especially Rza sound this hungry (on the mic) since Wu Tang Forever. This is just an excellent album overall with production that is excellent in my opinion, with a few strikes, but most songs grab your attention immediately in a way that 8 Diagrams absolutely didn't. The only thing keeping me from giving this 5 stars is that too often the songs are overloaded with guests in a way where they simply don't have enough time to let each emcee shine. But I can absolutely live with that considering the product as a whole.
As previously stated, Cilvaringz is certainly opinionated politically, and his views may seriously offend some Americans as he tries to tell the story of American foreign policy through the ideas of someone who comes from the Middle East. If you can deal with them as opinions, I think you will really enjoy this record if you're looking for a Wu record that successfully recaptures that mid 90's sound, while not sounding dated or retro.

i don't see how sooo many people gave this album 5 stars...i listened to it twice all the way through, it was alright but it wasn't 5 star. some of the beats were questionable and his rhyme style left alot to be desired. the collabos were great and the production was decent...but 5 stars, no i think not

One of the latest Wu-Tang realizes come from this Moroccan brother from the Netherlands. Listening to this takes me back to the old days of the 36 Chambers. You can tell Cilvaringz knows what made the Wu such a force in the 90's because its all here on this album. Grimy, dark beats; witty, humorous, hard-hittin take-no-prisoners lyricism; and a very powerful message combined with crazy kung-fu flick samples. You may not agree with his political views (even if they are somewhat true), but once you get past that you'll find yourself with a raze hip-hop gem. The DVD is pretty nice too, showing Cilvaringz introduction to the Wu Family and his and RZA world tour.
Overall, this album is straight bangin' son. A must-have for fans of the Wu and true hip-hop in general.

The album was excellent, its great to hear the real sound of Wu Tang... If you miss the Wu, then buy this album. There are some extremist points on the CD, but what the hey, he is free to say what he wants, like we are all free to say what we want.

My boy was pumped for the longest time about this CD so I ordered it. I was a bit skeptical because this guy is from Morocco so I didn't know what he would sound like but since he's a Wu Killa Bee I took a chance. It took Cilvaringz 6 years to drop this and it was worth the wait. He has a lot of political commentary that is on target most of the time. His flows are tight and the production is what you've come to expect from the all star Wu team of RZA, 4th Disciple, True Master, Mathematics and Bronze Nazareth. He has collabos with RZA, GZA, Method Man, Raekwon, Killarmy, 60 Sec Assassin and more. This album is stacked from beginning to end. Cop this album today!!! Real hip hop is not dead ...it may be on life support thanks to the garbage the radio is feeding us and our kids 24/7 but it's still here its just harder to find.

This guy needs a new career.,

First off the production is incredible. The guest artists (Wu Tang) are also incredible. So then why 2 stars you ask. Its lucky I gave it 2 stars. If it werent for the guests artist and production it would of gotten a zero. The lyrics & this guys flow are not incredible. His flow is almost really annoying to me and I cannot stand his lyrics and religous views and how he views the United States. He basically lives here but hates our country. Okay then leave. I dont care to hear about your extremist muslim views. Even on the cd Wu Tang states we dont agree with all the views on this cd. To be fair as I said the beats are off the chain if you dont listen to lyrics you will like this if you like old school Wu Tang
