Book Description

July 31, 1999
"I am a Bug" is a picture book which explains some important aspects of sotware development using metaphors related to bugs! A parent working in the software business can read I am a Bug to a young child and explain what they do at work!

I am a Bug was written by Robert Sabourin and illustrated by his 12 year old daughter Catherine. It was written for parents to read with their young children (3 to 8) but it presents some important messages to software development professionals of all ages.

Each page of I am a Bug has large print text at the top which can be read by younger children, an illustration and text at the bottom of the page which the parent can read to the child.

4.0 out of 5 stars Not just for kids!, January 18, 2010

This review is from: I am a Bug (Hardcover)
I picked up this book when my kids were young and showed an interest in what I did for a living as a software tester. What I found was more than I expected. This book captures some of the more difficult concepts in the software profession using simple drawings and statements. As a result, I have also used this book when teaching software testing to people who are new to the profession.

This book is a gold mine for visual learners looking for simple ways to communicate some of the important challenges facing software testers and quality professionals! I highly recommend it as an addition to your library.
