previous reviewer must not have followed application directions. I could not disagree more. This gelac nail system is tremendous. I have had weekly professional manicures for many years and am often disappointed with how quickly the polish chips - regardless if I wear rubber gloves to avoid excess water, etc. However, I had my nail salon use the 5 step gelac products and am surprisingly pleased with the results. I have had the polish on for 18 days and with the exception of one small chip on my thumb, the other 9 nails look as good as the day I left the salon. It creates a nice hard coating that still appears wet after all these days. I have subjected my nails to heat, water and cleaning agents and still they look fabulous. I may never go back to any of the commercial polishes again. This system is well worth the additional money. I would prefer to pay a bit more for nails that still looks pretty and well groomed weeks after application then waste time every week sitting in the salon with results far less superior.

Hello Everyone,
If you are a beginner, I'd suggest trying another system. This kit is not user friendly at all. It is advertised as "system kit" however it doesn't even come with the brushes to apply the product?!? You obviously need to buy a UV lamp as well, and, the booklet recommends an intense sealer that also doesn't come with the kit. Then, you might want to buy a brush cleaner as well and so on.. Also, even opening each container is a pain and it is messy. Everytime I tried so far, it has been lifting from my nails, but this might be user error :) I guess since as I am not a professional, I can't judge on performance yet but I can say that this is not user friendly. Good luck, I hope you find what you are looking for... as for me, will continue to search...

I recieved my kit and purchased the PNI Rapidcure light this week. I did my nails in less than an hour while watching TV. I really like the Gel Nails, I have issues with my nails splitting on the sides when they get length to them, with a couple coats of the gel they are are solid and look great. The Gel system is solid and feels natural.
You will need a brush to apply the gel, I did not get this in my kit. I also found that acetone cleans better than the cleanser that comes in this kit. Do not over clean, as acetone will break down the gel with overuse. bloth the nails, wipe and cure for another minute, you may need to repeat until sticky residue is gone. I also watched a video online before ordering anything to do this myself.
