4.0 out of 5 stars IBM Mouse
Although ackward in the beginning, once you try you won't want another mouse. I initially took one for my laptop and for travel but I eded up using it at home. I like the lided red wheel, the lightness and the small size of this comfortable mouse - also very precise and sharp. I'd give it 5 stars but I prefer 4 stars because it is not as quiet as I wished it would be...

1.0 out of 5 stars The one on the image is not the one i got!
Last year i bought my first IBM travel mouse, it looks great with my ibm thinkpad (made by lenovo) but with the ibm logo still on it, it matched perfectly my laptop, so i decided to buy 2 more IBM travel mouse for other 2 thinkpads with the IBM logo on them, but what i got was 2 "Thinkpad" branded mouses, no more IBM logo on them besides it appeared on the image of the...

5.0 out of 5 stars Perfect mouse, February 13, 2007

I decided to buy this particular mouse because I got myself a new ThinkPad and wanted to have a mouse that "matched" my laptop in terms of appearance. I also wanted a smaller mouse for when I am on the road. What I received however was much more than that!
This mouse has been so far the best mouse I have ever used! It is small, so it feels a little bit strange in the beginning, but extremely precise and sensitive in its response to hand movements. I had read that after you get used to it then all other mouses seem unnecessarily big and bulky and I need to say that this is true. After using this mouse at home all other mouses I have used at work don't even come close! The material it is made from is also very nice, as it provides a very nice grip. As per the looks, the red-lighted scrolling wheel makes it just fantastic! Overall I am very pleased with my purchase and I strongly recommend it. Two thumbs up!

5.0 out of 5 stars IBM 3-Button Travel Wheel Mouse, April 20, 2006
This review is from: IBM 3-Button Travel Wheel Mouse (Personal Computers)
I borrowed a friend's IBM 3-Button Travel Wheel Mouse to use temporarily, while I set up my new computer. However, after only two days of using this mouse, I have grown to like it so much that today I ordered one for everyday use in my home office. As another reviewer noted, the mouse feels small when you first start using it, but now that I've become accustomed to it, I don't want to use any other mouse. Its smaller footprint (not quite 3.5 inches, as opposed to my 5-inch IntelliMouse) makes it especially comfortable for people with small palms. The tracking is very accurate on smooth, hard surfaces, the buttons work easily, and the suede-like texture makes it extremely comfortable to hold. Another reviewer mentioned that the mouse is not as quiet as they'd like it to be, but the one that I've been using is completely silent. This one is definitely a winner.

4.0 out of 5 stars Good portable mouse, May 22, 2011
This review is from: IBM 3-Button Travel Wheel Mouse (Personal Computers)
I bought this eight years ago with my first laptop to have something small and easy to pack. The size is great for portability, but is easy to use at the same time. The rubberized surface helps make it easier to hold, but it did soften and wear over time. The only issue I've had was with the scroll wheel...after a few months it started having trouble with fast scrolling. Its been through a lot over the years and still works! Overall, I've been happy with it.

5.0 out of 5 stars Solultion for Carpal Tunnel Sufferers, November 6, 2009
By

This review is from: IBM 3-Button Travel Wheel Mouse (Personal Computers)
I stumbled on one of these little mice at work, quite by accident; my ergonomically correct mouse died, and I bought a fancy optical, cordless one which left my fingers numb and/or painful from using it only a couple hours, even though it was advertised as ergonomically designed. One of my coworkers wanted the optical, cordless mouse, so I offered to trade it for her little travel mouse. Since using the travel mouse, fully 75% or more of the problems with my carpal tunnel have ended. I'm sold and am now going to buy one for my home computer, as well. (The problem for carpal tunnel sufferers, for those who don't know, is that arching the hand over a large mouse or track ball device tends to place the hand at a 45 degree angle to the wrist, further stressing the carpal tunnel, pinching the nerves and causing either pain or numbness and stiffness. Because this mouse is so tiny it fits nicely in the cup of your hand, it doesn't require your wrist to flex while using it. Combined with my gel wrist rest, it's a total winner!)

5.0 out of 5 stars Perfect mouse, February 2, 2009
This review is from: IBM 3-Button Travel Wheel Mouse (Personal Computers)
It's light as a feather, precise enough to nudge it and the cursor moves just 1 pixel, the wheel is stiff and clicks through its turns instead of rolling freely, and the buttons take a firm press and they click sharply. It's a little unusual because of its small size (you need to become a "claw" style mouse user), but you'll never want to go back to pushing around a big awkward mouse again.

5.0 out of 5 stars This is the best mouse ever!, October 11, 2011

Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
This review is from: IBM 3-Button Travel Wheel Mouse (Personal Computers)
I first got a IBM mini travel mouse in about 2004 when I bought my first notebook - IBM ThinkPad. It came with the notebook. However, it broke after about one year at which time I contacted IBM and received a free replacement. I had been using that replacement travel mouse ever since for more than 6 years and it worked perfectly on my current notebook- Macbook. However, the scroll button finally wore out last Saturday (3 days ago). I tried to repair it but to no avail.

Luckily I had another new IBM mouse in my house as a backup (for precisely such a situation). However, it is a standard size mouse and it is not nearly as good as the mini-sized mouse. The standard size mouse's biggest weakness was that pointing was not precise and moving the cursor was sluggish. The mini-size mouse was able to move to exactly where I want it to be.

I immediately came to Amazon to see if I could buy another IBM mini travel mouse and luckily found it. The package arrived today and I am already using it. The same speed and precision has come back after 2 days of frustration. I am happy with this mouse and I unreservedly recommend it to anyone.

5.0 out of 5 stars Another member of the Cult of the IBM Travel Mouse, September 23, 2011
This review is from: IBM 3-Button Travel Wheel Mouse (Personal Computers)
In 2003, I was still getting used to using the trackpoint on my laptop. A colleague took pity on me and lent me his IBM travel mouse. I bought my own the next day, and I've been using it ever since. I think the secret is that it's so small you can easily hold it between your thumb and ring finger, and your index and middle fingers rest on the buttons without thinking - so it takes no adjustment time when you move between the keyboard and mouse. It's incredibly precise for a LED mouse, but the scroll wheel has always been a little wobbly - not a big deal.

I'm super-fussy about my mouse and keyboard, and I've tried to find a better mouse many times (the closest potential successor has been a USB Razor Pro Click), but after 8 years in my laptop bag I keep coming back to the increasingly battered little IBM. In fact I only came to this page to make sure they were still selling them!

It is good. I had another one and this is a gift to my friend. I've been using mine for 3 years.

It is small. Big hands may feel a little uncomfortable.
