The IBM 11a/b/g Wireless CardBus Adapter automatically searches for the best WLAN connection, giving you wireless-connection flexibility, speed, and throughput. Tri-mode operation helps you connect and switch between a/b/g wireless LANs in your office or if you subscribe and connect to WLANs where you travel.

Features and benefits:

• Based on IEEE 802.11a/b/g, this 32-bit CardBus Type III adapter helps provide connection flexibility and investment protection to your existing 11b WLAN installations and future access point upgrades
• Dual-band access to 802.11a at 5 GHz and 802.11b/g at 2.4 GHz frequency ranges
• 802.11b/g supports 11 channels, 3 of which are non-overlapping and has longer transmission range (up to 300 feet vs. up to 150 feet for 802.11a); 802.11g can deliver high speed wireless connectivity up to 54 Mbps when used with an 11g access point--up to almost 5 times faster than 11b WLAN (11g at up to 54 Mbps vs. up to 11 Mbps for 802.11b technologies)
