Product Description

Amazon.com Product Description

If you've had enough of stiff-necked phone conversations, consider IBM's 3345SL cordless headset phone that lets you talk with your hands free--without cramping your neck into awkward positions. With a 10-number memory for frequently dialed friends, the 3345SL's headset fits most heads comfortably, and the keypad features a belt clip. Keeping your phone line crisp with 2.4 GHz transmission and 40-channel auto-scan for the clearest connection, the 3345SL features a caller ID feature for those who subscribe to the service. The phone stores up to 60 callers' names, numbers, and time of call, acting as virtual telephone book for easily returning calls. Simply scroll through numbers using the backlit three line LCD display with new-call indicator, callback, review, and erase. The phone is backed by a one-year warranty.

From the Manufacturer

The IBM 3345 2.4-GHz cordless telephone performs powerfully by transmitting at a frequency twice as high as some leading cordless phones, providing the user with uncompromised sound quality and extended range. But even better is the clever design, in which the user comfortably wears the headset and clips the keypad to a belt or pocket for completely hands-free use. The headset has a sensitive microphone and quality speakers, and the keypad has a legible three-line LCD and convenient button layout. It also has call waiting and caller ID, with a 60-name and -number memory, with an auto-dial function. Speed dialing memory stores up to 10 numbers for you to quickly access and dial. Also includes a rechargeable battery and base charger.

1.0 out of 5 stars Like the idea behind the phone but not this one, December 6, 2002

this is my second cordless phone with a headset-this one I can not hear out of. I contacted the seller Rainbow Barter and they said all sales were final. So I tried to contact IBM sat on the phone 25 minutes the first time on hold, was disconnected and I am sitting again 25 minutes. maybe this time I will get luck :(

4.0 out of 5 stars A cordless phone for most everyone, December 5, 2001
By A Customer
This review is from: IBM-3345SL Cordless Analog 2.4GHz Telephone with Caller ID (Office Product)
This is a very easy to use and very high quality cordless phone. The headset is comfortable, lightweight, and the sound quality is excellent. The memory, caller-ID, and call-back functions are all user friendly. Drawbacks to this phone revolve around the inabilty to use it (i.e. like a speakerphone) when it sits in its cradle. Another negative is the clip on the back of the phone is flimsy and the unit can slip from a pocket or belt. These minor flaws should not deter you from buying this otherwise terrific phone especially at its very competitive price.

2.0 out of 5 stars No luck, June 19, 2002
This review is from: IBM-3345SL Cordless Analog 2.4GHz Telephone with Caller ID (Office Product)
I have had no luck with this product. It seemed to work fine in the beginning, but after a few weeks I began to get terrible static problems, which can be very disruptive both to me and to my callers. Sometimes a call comes in and it gives a funny ring that tells me there's no way I'll be able to answer the call on that phone. Sometimes it tells me the battery has run down, even though after I put the unit back on the base and pick it back up again the battery will read fully charged. I really can't go into all the strange things this phone does in just 1000 words.
I do like the headset feature, which allows me to wander the house and do stuff with my hands while I'm yakking away, but the belt clip is a mystery. It's hinged, so that it just flips out of my belt or whatever. I have to be sure to wear a shirt with a chest pocket if I really want to be hands-free. The headset offers good sound, both to me and my callers.
I should note that this is my first cordless phone and it's possible that the problems mentioned above are to do with my environment and not the phone, but I find that hard to believe.
Maybe after I replace this thing I can come back and say.
