great product for external cdroms, December 15, 2009
This review is from: IBM 33L5151 24x External USB 1.1 CD-ROM Drive (Personal Computers)
I like it a lot.
One think that I am thinking about this product is the cables. The cables are too short.

Great, inexpensive CD-ROM external Drive, August 31, 2009
This review is from: IBM 33L5151 24x External USB 1.1 CD-ROM Drive (Personal Computers)
This CD-Rom Drive is excellent.
It has a USB cable(that is a little short), but when I hooked it up to my little Acer Aspire One Netbook running WinXP-sp3. The drivers were installed by XP and it was working within a minute. It also works equally well on My windows Vista laptop, although vista needed a restart after installing the drivers, and XP didn't.
It came with a nylon case, the drive itself, a USB cable, a cable for audio,a manual, floppy diskette with drivers for win98, win2000, win nt(which I didn't need.
I had ordered a Teac external CD-Rom drive on ebay and it was a total piece of junk, it worked for 10 minutes and then quit and never worked again.
This is a solid little drive, that has a slider button to pop the top to open the drive, unlike the cheapo generic ones that have the slide out tray.
It has a green light on the front that lets you know when it is busy, a forward and back button on the front as well.
If you are looking for a well made, portable CD-Rom drive, this one is EXCELLENT.
