Very hard to learn,

Does anyone use this product to build or manage a website? Let me hear about it from non-IBMers. Even the sample didn't work for me. Not for nervous users like me. Online docs seem to indicate it needs WebSphere Application Server and DB2. Beware of System requirements! Is there any hardcopy book?

Not for the novice user,

First the good part - if you invest in Websphere Studio, Websphere App Server, UDB, Visual Age Java, and you are an accomplished Web professional, then you've got a complete environment for development and production. Throw in IBM's San Francisco and you've got half the work of creating a high-tech site done for you. Now the bad part - if you are not comfortable setting up app servers and SSL then you're not likely to be able to do this alone. While IBM is certainly available to help you implement a Websphere solution (for a fee!), a project on the Websphere platform is definitely not for the faint of heart. As for me, my company purchased the Websphere Suite 6 months ago and I just got the servers running reliably. I'm not looking forward to doing development on this platform.
