This DVD (Multi) Burner / CD Burner / DVD Player / CD Player comes exactly as advertised. Bear in mind that this DVD burner makes the DVD wars obsolete, it handles DVD - R and DVD + R as well as the Dual Layer DVDS that can hold 8.5GB. Overall, this is the best DVD burner you can buy. It's nice.

Installation was simple:

-turn off laptop

-eject old CD ROM player

-insert this player

-Windows 7 will recognize it right away as it boots

A nice extra from Win7 is that it automatically burns ISO images so it's quite nice.

This is a Lenovo product and fits a whole plethora of laptops. I recommend you check your product compatibility before ordering. I checked the part number on my laptop before ordering and had zero problems.

-nicely packaged (did not come in original box) - have no way of knowing if product is new or not but works great

Overall - great service. Would buy again from this vendor. Everything working great.

UPDATE:

- I watched an entire DVD movie on this with no problems

- I burned a CD and everything worked fine

- I'm going to find my image of Win7 and burn it using this burner to see how it performs (I'll post on here).

This was very easy to install (literally just slid it into the correct spot and tightened the screw) and works fine.

GOT THE DVD R/W FOR MY THINKPAD QUICKLY AND WITH NO PROBLEMS. OPENED THE BAY, STUCK IT IN AND IT WORKED FROM THE GET-G0. GOOD JOB GOOD PRODUCT.

This DVD/CD-ROM Burner was a snap to install. Upgraded from a CD-Player to this burner. Reads and writes fast. Does the job of writing to disk effectively when transferring pictures from files to burning a CD. Very pleased with this product.

Very convenient! DVD burner always come in handy... movies, data. Sooon as I plugged it in Windows 7... Windows 7 install dvd burning software and I was on my way!

5 Star A-Okay Purchase of New,Genuine, Original, Authentic, Lenovo IDE DVD-Multi II DVD & CD Burner. Note the rear is correct IDE for Lenovo Thinkpad T43, T60, T61, etc. ( Sata DVD is for Thinkpad 400, 410, etc. )

The drive slipped right into the bay and worked flawlessly with my T60. Didn't need a new driver. Looked new. I'm very happy with this purchase.

Not much to say. I put it in my IBM/Lenovo Thinkpad T60P with Windows 7 and it has worked flawlessly so far. It's a perfect match with a revised firmware. Bevel seats perfectly. No cons to speak of.

The order shipped quickly and arrived when promised. The only quibble I have is that the face plate of the drive is not beveled like the original ThinkPad drive. It creates a small lip on the side of the unit and changes the physical profile slightly. All in all I would still buy the drive and will probably use this vendor again in the future.

This updated/fixed the dead drive in a 2006 Thinkpad I rescued from my neighbor's trash pile. Plus updating from a CD/DVD Rom brought this laptop current with dual layer DVD support and media save/playback functions.
