Product Description

Amazon.com Product Description

Highly portable and with plenty of processing speed, the ThinkPad T23 has a lot to offer those seeking a business-oriented notebook. Consider, for example, its 1.2 GHz Pentium III chip, 48 GB hard disk, and 128 MB of RAM (expandable to 1,024 MB). A large 14.1-inch, active-matrix screen and 24x (read), 8x (write), 4x (rewrite) CD-RW drive make this system adequate in the area of entertainment as well. The installed operating system is Windows XP Professional, which adds business-oriented security and networking features to Microsoft's Windows 2000 OS.

5.0 out of 5 stars Expensive yes, but worth every penny, December 23, 2001
By A Customer
This review is from: IBM Thinkpad T23 Laptop (1.2-GHz Pentium III, 128 MB RAM, 48 GB hard drive) (Personal Computers)
I've had Thinkpads for over 7 years now, and when the time came to replace my old one, I researched the market extensively as I didn't want to get another Thinkpad just because I already owned one. I purchased a Thinkpad because it is simply the best laptop out there. I've had my notebook for 3 months now, and the thing I like best about it is the 'wow' factor when other people see what it can do. Never had a problem - no funny hangs, no power problems. I also dropped the laptop from about table height in the first week that I had it, and it just kept on going, no problems, no marks on the outside, no nothing. If you are someone who must have the best, then this is it.

5.0 out of 5 stars Great Machine, December 21, 2001
By A Customer
This review is from: IBM Thinkpad T23 Laptop (1.2-GHz Pentium III, 128 MB RAM, 48 GB hard drive) (Personal Computers)
This is a sweet machine, definitely a desktop replacement option. I would suggest this for office work. For home users I would suggest the R or the A series. I use this machine at work, and have an X series at home. I have been a laptop user for years, and these are the reasons why I chose the T-Series:
(1) The keyboard feel is the best there is out there, hands down
(2) best weight - 5lbs as opposed to others which can weigh as heavy as 8lbs (*cough* dell *cough*)
(3) a whole slew of interchangeable ultrabay options
(4) thinklight!
(5) build and quality

5.0 out of 5 stars T Series Laptop by IBM, December 3, 2001
By A Customer
This review is from: IBM Thinkpad T23 Laptop (1.2-GHz Pentium III, 128 MB RAM, 48 GB hard drive) (Personal Computers)
If you're looking for power and mobility with excellent quality, this laptop is definitely a great choice. IBM's laptop quality and service is why I've also standardized them as our company's laptops. I've been using various brands of laptops, including Dell, HP, and Compaq, and I still perfer the IBM T series. This laptop has more power than a typical user will need. This would be a great choice for any student or professional.
