The new Intel PRO/Wireless 2200BG Mini-PCI Adapter from IBM offers secure wireless connectivity with flexibility and performance for wireless-upgradeable ThinkPad notebooks. This Mini PCI adapter is based on 2 Wireless LAN (WLAN) standards: IEEE 802.11g and 802.11b.

This adapter supports a maximum physical layer throughput of 54 Mbps, with automatic fallback to 48 Mbps, 36 Mbps, 24 Mbps, 18 Mbps, 12 Mbps, 9 Mbps, and 6 Mbps in OFDM mode, and 11 Mbps, with automatic fallback to 5.5 Mbps, 2 Mbps, 1 Mbps in CCK mode. (Effective throughput will be less than these values and will also vary, depending on the usage environment.)

The product worked fine for about an hour. I have to reboot the machine and reconfigure the card in order to use it and it will still lose its signal within an hour or so. The machine is about 30 feet from the router and I have checked for driver and software updates.
