Because some of Amazon's listing descriptions for Icebreaker items have very few details about the products, making it difficult for the customer to make an informed purchasing decision if he/she is unfamiliar with this brand of clothing, below I'll type some general information about Icebreaker clothing and some personal impressions of it, based on my experience of their products from 2000 to early 2013.

Note that my review is quite long and usually only the first half of it is shown on this page. If this happens on your screen and you wish to read the second half, all you have to do is press the "read more" button at the bottom of the review and Amazon will show you the rest of it. :-)

OVERALL IMPRESSION

Icebreaker's marino wool items are generally made well, last a long time, are easy to care for, feel fantastic on the skin, are "natural", don't get smelly easily like polarfleece does, let the skin breathe, etc.

Many of my Icebreaker items have been worn and washed several hundred times and are still holding up much better than would be expected.

I am a BIG fan of this company's products. For my overall experience of them from around 2000-2010, I would give them a solid "5 stars"!

However, I regret to say that my opinion of the items I bought from Icebreaker in 2012 was not as high. In late 2012 I bought 7 different Icebreaker items (most of them in various sizes) and decided to return all of them because they were not as well-cut as the very "same" items that I bought in the 2000s (which I still have and wear, so I can make like-for-like comparisons easily).

Based solely on my 2012 experience of Icebreaker products, I would give them 3 stars, meaning "it's ok".

I can't say enough about Icebreaker clothing! I love love love it! This one I wear to sleep while camping, as lounge clothing around the house, outside gardening (I have a problem if I get too much sun), and pretty much everywhere I can get away with wearing it. The pink is pretty, and the cut is flattering, meaning, I could wear this to town shopping and not look like I'm in my sweats. I wash this (not too often) on warm in regular cycle and then hang dry, it dries very fast because it is extremely thin. This shirt does NOT have the customary Icebreaker thumb holes, but the arms are still plenty long (and I would know, because that's a real pet peeve for me, sleeves that are too short). Like I said, LOVE!

I purchased two of these in anticipation of snow when visiting family in Michigan…and I wasn't disappointed. It was warm enough to wear with a vest when the sun was out (51 degrees)…and light enough to not feel bulky when worn under a sweater (when it was 32 degrees). Now I'm a Southern California girl…so I love my warm weather and I'm not a fan of being cold. Having said that, I like that this kept me warm while in MI. I have several Smartwool base layers and these Icebreakers haven't pilled even after several washings (all three of my Smartwool base layers pilled). Great product!

This fits true to size (I am generally a size 2, weigh 103, 5 feet tall, and the XS is just right, maybe a trifle long in the body because I am short). It is a high-quality, cute shirt. If you wash it in cold water and hang it to dry, it will not shrink. I did not try putting it in the dryer, as the instructions say not to do that. Not itchy at all! Soft lightweight wool.

Not sure I am crazy about the color but it is very useful for layering. I have had a black one for a long time and love it. I expect I will get lots of wear out of this and I could not resist the incredible deal on the price.

This is my second icebreaker at 200 weight. I like that it is warm in layers for outside activities and comfortable as single layer inside. The Crewe top fits snugly, actually more than I would like.
